Despite being a regular visitor to Rainbow since the mid 70's, for some reason never actually tried this place. Visited for the first time this week. Menu wasn't particularly inspiring, to me anyway. But we settled on chicken schnitz and a seafood basket. Pricing was definitely in the upper band ... and at 32 bux for the seafood I was expecting something really special, particularly being a few hundred metres from the sea! It was a very quiet night - school hols just finished, so service was pretty good and wait time excellent. We saw the chef pop the meals onto the counter and ding the bell, but the waitress sure took her sweet time to get there, and we couldn't say for sure if the fly(ies) buzzing above them ever actually landed on them ... not a good look though. Chicken dish not massive, and the schnitty could have come off the oil 30 seconds sooner, but spicing and flavouring were great. Unfortunately EVERYTHING about the seafood basket was small, including the tiniest prawn cutlets I've seen in my entire life!! Fish fillet tiny, and tasted like it'd been frozen. Hell even the salad was small! Wish I'd put a coin in the picture to show the scale. Having said that though, the flavour was pretty good, tartare tasted zingy and home made. Salads tasty, chips standard for hotel meals. The walk to the toilets (spotlessly clean) involves passing by the back areas of the bar, and it did seem incongruous to see stacks of unwashed glasses/jugs and rubbish sitting on the benches while the staff looked bored out of their minds trying to find something to do!! Hard to rate this one. We didn't find the atmosphere as fantastic as others obviously do, the schnitty a 4, the seafood a 3, cleanliness a 5 let down by obviously sloppy barstaff standards .... at the end of the day it'd net a 3.5 from us, but we'll nudge it up to a 4 - clean toilets!! Probably leave it another 50 years now ... ! Wish I'd chosen the pork belly salad!!

We stopped here for a drink with our doggie and the service was fantastic. My partner forgot his shoes and they even gave us some thongs for short term loan. Doggie also got a complimentary ice cream too, which he rated 5 stars. Thanks for having us guys - we’ll try remember shoes next time 😅

A Magical Christmas Day Lunch at Rainbow Beach Hotel! I recently had the pleasure of celebrating Christmas Day at the Rainbow Beach Hotel, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a festive atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the holiday. The Christmas Day lunch buffet was nothing short of spectacular. The spread was extensive, featuring a delightful variety of dishes that catered to all tastes. From succulent roasted meats to fresh seafood, and an array of mouthwatering sides, every bite was a treat. The dessert table was the highlight for many, overflowing with festive sweets that were as beautiful as they were delicious! The staff went above and beyond to ensure that everyone felt welcomed and well taken care of. Their attention to detail and friendly service made the experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance was cheerful and inviting, with lovely decorations that added to the festive spirit. It was the perfect setting to gather with loved ones and create wonderful memories. Overall, our Christmas Day lunch at the Rainbow Beach Hotel was an unforgettable experience, and I can’t wait to return next year! If you’re looking for a beautiful place to celebrate the holidays, this is definitely the spot! We love Dave and all the staff !!

We dropped in on a Wednesday evening, about 40 minutes before the Bistro closed. We were both impressed at the way they had the various, (uncooked), cuts of steak in a display cabinet to help you choose. We both went for the Filet Mignon 'Special', cooked to our liking of 'blue' with chips, onion rings & salad ,served with a red wine juz for $40 as the ones in the window looked pretty darn good. My with also ordered ½ doz oysters natural ($20) as an entree, plus a couple of drinks, which came to $138. We collected our drinks, and sat down at one of the outside tables. We had only just taken the first sip of our drinks, (maybe 5mins), and the waitress appeared with ½ doz oysters Kilpatrick, saying, 'Here's your entree.' We both said, 'They were meant to be natural.' The waitress looked at us blankly and said, 'Oh' before grabbing some cutlery from another table and handed it over saying, 'Here's your cutlery' and walked away. No problem, a mix up with the order in our favour and they were apparently delicious. My wife had just finished her first oyster when the waitress returned with our meals, probably only 2-3 minutes after the serving the entree. We couldn't believe the speed of the service, that was UNTIL we cut into the steak. They were both on the well done side of medium and had obviously been precooked and then thrown back on the grill before being served up. A bit chewy and had lost much of their flavour due to being way overcooked. VERY DISAPPOINTING to say the least Service was Super quick by lovely, friendly staff. Unfortunately, the Chef sorry, the cook let...

Reserved a table with a couple mates, all 18 but one 17, no plans to drink. We got id straight away and told them they were 17 while making the booking but it was not disclosed the policy about guardians being 10years older. This would of been okay however the lady that is us was really rude, especially when I'm 18 and was not nice or apologetic at all. Our friends had already ordered our food, it was 1 pepperoni and 1 meat lovers (we all hate Hawaiian pizza) however when talking to her she said that she can give us the pizza in take out box we told her that we will be having the pepperoni however boxes up both pizza, and later tells us that we did not get a pepperoni but a Hawaiian pizza, and got very defensive saying how we never ordered that and this is our order. As we ordered for the group and the pizza was wrong as well as 1 person had to leave we were trying to figure out who gets what and what we will do as we are camping and didn't have anywhere to go. She came telling us that we need to leave now however we hadn't even been given our pizza yet as it was still cooking. This would have been okay if she was apologetic about one person needing to leave or nice to us but her attitude was really rude when we only spent 5 minutes in the pub. I am not mad about one person getting kicked out and the policy the pub has but instead how the server was acting and the attitude she had. Everyone at the table also said we had order 1 pepperoni and 1 meat lovers, however was denying it as she was the one that put...
