The worst place we have even eaten dinner at.
It should have been a sign when I was lining up to get the table some drinks and I witnessed 3 plates going back to the kitchen from different tables.
Let's start with the undercooked garlic bread for the entrees. It was that cold I could have put it in my overpriced drink to cool it down.
Let's move onto mains...
You know it's bad when a teenager won't eat a burger... the bun was that burnt on the bottom I thought they had used two different buns to make the burger. The chicken over cooked and to quote my teenager the only thing they didn't burn was the greens.
It was the same with the other burger at the table. However the younger child was happy as she thought her loose tooth would come out and she'd get a visit from the tooth fairy.
The steak was ordered with a topper that never came as we weren't charged for it yet it was mentioned. Yet it was read back to us on the order go figure... the same can be said about the bruschetta that never arrived. I do wish we had a vet dinning with us, as they would have been able to bring the cow back alive as the steak was that underdone it wasn't funny.
Now onto the kids meal with the schnitzel that overdone the knives provided at the table struggled to cut through and the tomato sauce provide being just enough to cover the bottom of the saucer. Which I thought was really rough if you're going to burn something this bad at least provide enough sauce to cover that horrid burn taste..
That was just our experience as I looked around viewing other tables meals it became obvious that our table wasn't the only one receiving over cooked meals.
Needless to say this is the first and last time we will be visiting this...
Read moreSunday Night, large groups accommodated. The Royal has no problems with large groups, and you are free to make bookings, however, may only do so by email. I am inclined to believe more parking would benefit this joint. It’s a popular place, street parking can be a pain for this place though. Indoor seating, comfortable atmosphere wirh nice lighting and big windows. A Tv in most corners with Keno and Sport playing. Has a gaming room, plenty of pokies! However, this place echoes. I love some pub atmosphere, however, if you are hard of hearing or are looking for a peaceful, quiet feed, you may want to look elsewhere. Good timing was very good despite a considerable amount of people in the hotel. Entrees took about 15 minutes, mains 25. All mains were brought out around the same time, an underrated and undervalued asset in this day and age of pub feeding. However, I ordered the steak sandwich, requesting the tomato and beetroot to be removed. This was not actioned, so imagine my SUPRISE when I see a beautiful looking steak sandwich and I see the devils fruit sitting in there. Obviously not a huge deal, was simply removed. However, this would be a bigger deal if allergic or intolerant. If such may be the case for you, please heed slight caution when dining here. Food was fantastic, every plate at my table was empty by the end. No leftovers, too good to leave uneaten. Other than this, friendly staff, with great service. Drive through bottle-o really tickled my pickle, truly just the little things that have dropped this to...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant for dinner on a Friday night, as we’ve done many times before. The four of us had just sat down and were about to toast our drinks when our friend arrived and surprised us with the news that she had just gotten engaged. Naturally, we were thrilled — we stood up, hugged her, and shared a few moments of excitement and celebration. We even apologized to nearby patrons for the brief disturbance and explained the happy news. Unfortunately, this joyful moment was quickly dampened by a staff member from the bar — an older woman — who came over to tell us to be quiet. It was especially disheartening because, at that point, the excitement had already passed, and we weren’t being disruptive. She claimed someone had complained, but the way she approached us was unnecessarily harsh and completely lacking in empathy, especially considering the nature of the moment. Throughout the evening, this staff member avoided our table, and the overall service from both the bar and restaurant staff felt cold and unwelcoming. One of us ended up speaking to her at the end of the night to express how her reaction had impacted what should have been a really special memory. It’s truly disappointing that such a joyful occasion was tainted by one rude and inconsiderate staff member. Sadly, this experience has put us off returning, despite having been regular patrons in the past. Staff who lack warmth and tact, particularly in front-of-house roles, can really make or break a customer’s experience — and in this case, it...
