Yummy Plus Chinese North Point (next to cold rock ice cream) — Restaurant in Queensland

This restaurant opened up just before I moved from Toowoomba, so I made a point of checking it out when I went back for a visit. I’m glad I did.

I may order the stock standard Honey Chicken, but it’s how I rate Chinese restaurants. If they can get that right, they’re a winner for me.

Some places don’t give enough of a honey glaze, often leaving them too dry, or the flavour can just be off. Yummy Plus was a welcome surprise. Dripping in a pool of honey on my plate, the meal looked even better than the photo they had up outside the restaurant.

My only regret is that I didn’t stop to take a photo. The food was just too tempting.

Got three meals there recently as takeaway. The restaurant is spotlessly clean so top marks there. The staff were friendly, the prices were reasonable and the food came out in good time. All the food elements were fresh and nicely cooked, the only issue was that across the three meals they were bland. There were no nice interesting Asian sauces in evidence, it was about what i would cook at home, a bit boring. Happy to go back and try other dishes but spice it...

I visited today for the first time in ages - I really need to visit here more often. Lucy does a great job with fast, friendly service. The Malaysian dishes are my favourites; Marmite pork, rendang and the combination laksa (pictured)

Originally planning on takeaway but changed my mind to dine in that was cheerfully accommodated. The dining area is spotless - very clean tables and chairs. Highly recommended for Malaysian dishes...
