Tandara Hotel — Restaurant in Queensland

We used to love the Tandara or as we call it, The Tandy.. We decided to treat ourselves to a night out as a family, Wife and I, Daughter and son in law and our two grandkids. Night out supporting our local. Tandy always has a relaxed atmosphere and it still did, hence why I gave it 2 star rating, because The atmosphere is about all it had going for it on our night out. Ordering our meals, told we couldn't get the mixed grill because they didn't have any steak, on a Tuesday night and they had no steak, after bar assistant ran around for five minutes, we were told oh yes we could, great. On to ordering drinks, the adults drinks were ok but try and get drinks for kids, don't really cater for kids drinks, after asking for lemonade for kids, they didn't have cans, had to buy in glass bottles, kids and glass sort of don't mix. Onto waiting for our meals, we all ordered together, five meals. The kids meals came out fast along with wife's meal, mine came out about five minutes after kids and wife's and daughter and her partners came out around twenty minutes later, only after daughter went up and asked where their meals were. Wife ordered chicken burger, it was pretty much stone cold as she was eating it and bun tastes stale. I ordered mixed grill, supposed to come with egg and didn't and well the stockman must be lean this week, for $29 you would expect a good feed. 1 sausage, about 100gm steak, 1 bit of bacon, a piece of tomato handful of chips and well no egg. Daughter had the same when she got it and she got egg and well the sausage was raw in the middle and her serving wasn't much better. Unfortunately the prices that they want for the meals they are serving, we will not be rushing back. We were told when Woolworths/BWS group had taken over, it had gone to the dogs and well it ain't far from the truth. It really was a disappointment of...

The orders are consistently wrong. When sent back to the kitchen to be corrected they are forgotten about and you are left without food unless you take it upon yourself to get out of your seat and approach a staff member. Forget about trying to get someone's attention from your table for any issues you have. The quality of the food fluctuates wildly and there is no consistency from one week to the next on even the most basic of menu items. Garlic bread even comes out still cold the majority of the time. Orders are routinely confused or lost and plates of food sit on the serving counter for a long time before they are brought over to the table.

I genuinely wish the new owners would go back to old buzzer system of ordering where you go up to the counter when your buzzer went off and collected your food. It was faster, easier, more efficient, less troublesome and freed up the rest of the floor staff to cater to other things rather than fluster around the place chasing people's orders.

My family and I attended a family dinner last night. Quite a few a of us were very disappointed in the meal. The crumbed steaks were served on top of the chips to make them look bigger (didn't work). The salad that accompanied the meat was almost non existent. After the meal we sat talking and catching up for quite some time accompanied by all our dirty plates etc. No one came to clear them away at least not while we were there and we left around 9:30pm. I don't usually write a review but I feel that we have spent many a great night at the Tandy and it will be a shame if this experience changes that as I got the feeling from others that it might. Also I didn't notice any Disabled parks in the carpark any more, if so someone else may have incorrectly been parked there. Hopefully management will take this review in the spirit it is meant. We are locals and take pride in our local businesses....
