We're locals from Rosedale, however have lived in Brisbane for the last 18 months for work.
The food dished up tonight was simply rubbish. Given the 5 star reviews it's clear that this rubbish has become the benchmark. Ordered the Onyx Wagyu blue. Plated medium at best, poorly cut and as someone's review stated, mashed potato the colour and consistency of peanut butter. Really?
I returned the Wagyu after one cut. The other two meals had more precisely cooked steak but the side in all cases were disgraceful. And all for an hour's wait.
Then we sampled the cocktails.
Definitely don't come here for cocktails. My wife just paid 20 for a Pina Colada and it's a cup full to the brim of ice and not much else. 3 sips and gone for $20. Complained and the little upstart that made it said "well thats how I make it" doesn't make it right. My wife's loves Pinàs and has tried them from Denmark to Hawaii and said this was "hands down the worst" to date.
Found Matt at the H20 restaurant for dinner 2.0. had a blue riib fillet, hand cut chips and a green salad. Wow, just wow, 10 out of 10.
Don't waste your hard earned money at the "Club" for boiled mush veg, poor pub streaks passed off as premium and snotty attitude from staff that have zero customer service comprehension.
Solid 2 out of 10.

Its the 21st century and Australia has apartheid clubs. Look through the window after midnight sometime, try and spot a single black person. You won't.
It would make a tiny bit more sense if they were denying huge, rowdy groups of Islanders (although still wrong imo)... But this was literally one guy, with me, denied entry because of his colour.
If you're going to be racist on your entry policy- at least be honest about it. Paint a big "whites only" sign above the door, just like they had in 1950s...

I watched a pile of chips placed on a plate and slaw,then the ribs placed on top of the chips, then copious amounts of runny sauce poured over it. The pork seemed like it had been braised, not much colour, fell off the colourless rib bones, not much taste in the meat. The chips were highly salted, and mostly soggy by the time I got my meal. The sauce was ok, but quite thin, and so much of it the chips and slaw were swimming . What has happened to proper bbq pork ribs with the thick and delicious sauce
So dissatisfied. I ate the soft baby food pork and the few non soggy chips I could find. I didn't taste the slaw
