Out with our family for dinner, a mix of elderly through to toddler. We enquired with staff on behalf of our elderly mother about a half serve roast, this reportedly took āalot of brain power to work outā as stated by the gent wearing the management nametag to figure out. Iāve ordered our meals and requested that ours come out with the rest of the tables as we were ordering separately. The tables meals arrived - minus two - explanation provided was āoh, but they ordered online, how were we to know that an order had been placedā¦. Ummmm, š¤·āāļø, maybe communication is key.
After about 35 minutes, I popped up to grab a drink and enquired as to the whereabouts with out meals, where the lady behind the bar entered into a robust statement about their inability to know whatās going on whereā¦. Again, baffled at the sheer lack of communication, further confused by their ongoing consistent visits into the kitchen which was in my eye shot.
Meals Overall, pretty lacklusterā¦. A Caesar salad with no croutons (when asked about them, the waitress advised there were no extras added to the order - yet, theyāre advertised as part of the meal š¤¦āāļø)
Anything with bacon was dry, oily and basically little stacks of cut up bacon the person cooking didnāt feel the need to seperate.
The extremely complex half serve of roast was luke warm and pretty average looking all round.
We popped up to the bar for some water for the table, out of 7 glasses, 4 were filthy, grotty and not something you would want to consume anything out of.
I would have expected some form of apology, financial remuneration or something, but we were met with robust explanations as to how none of this was the establishments issue and no hint of an attempt at making it up to us.

This was unbeknownst to me at the time as the prawns were covered with cheese so I began eating and only enquired about what I beleived to be the only issue (missing salad) shortly after receiving the meal. Our table hadn't properly recognised the mistake because we had arrived and ordered our meals at different times and orderer of the prawn parmigana meal was in the bathroom at the time the first meal was served. After the mistake was explained to the manager, he was extremely rude and dismissive, and refused to admit any fault or offer any assistance with the issue in any way. Very poor communication, menu knowledge and customer service, particularly from the manager. Earlier on the same evening, one of the members of our table also experienced glitches with the mobile app preventing her from claiming a $10 voucher advertised at the venue (claimable only through the mobile app). After explaining the issue to the same manager, he advised we would need to contact the app developer to resolve the issue and no voucher or credit could be redeemed unless the coupon could be activated via the app. The advertisement, nor the mobile app listed a software developer/owner, and an issue such as this should not be expected to be followed up or resolved by a customer. This instance was also an example of poor customer service, a dismissive attitude, and a lack of accountability shown by the manager of The Old Bundy Tavern, as well as as well as misleading...

I'm not so sure about this new chef/cook they have, no flavour profiles in any of the food we ordered. 400g rump steak - sou-vide, fat not rendered making the flavour less than desirable, red wine just don't freaking bother as it's not what they say it is, a demi-glaze Maggi premix. Bacon carb - no flavour or depth. Cream was not even heated through or had through flavour of bacon through it. Comes with half a soggy garlic bread. Salt and pepper calamari- this was one of our favourites! Key word is was! I personally hate seafood, but when my wife ordered this I would always eat it. It was the best. Now it's covered in this type of batter, comes out brown as wet dirt covering your dinner. No flavour again. It's not just the flavour it's also the presentation! Slapped on a plate.
The other meal wasn't even cooked it was a chicken parmigiana - Mexican. It wasn't even cooked we had to send it back due to the blood and pink flesh. The staff 3 of them had to check it and still questioned it on it. The replacement that came out was burnt. Dry, uneditable. It went from one extreme to the next. It was so hard on the outside you couldn't even out your knife through it. Bare in mind. We came before the rush we were here at 4:30pm eating our dinner. No one else was around so not having a care about the food is one thing but this was disgusting.
The service of the bar staff was second to none. Friendly helpful and just great.
Bring back the other chef please. Or at least get this fixed. My wife is a chef from Melbourne did her training through the best of the best in Melbourne and she wouldn't serve this to our dogs to eat.
