Our first server was not nice and we almost left( not your night hey name tag said Jess!) BUT thankfully you employ different staff! And it was thanks to Raquel(hope that’s the spelling!) who just made us so welcome! The bbq mixed seafood plate was good! A decent selection! They just were too happy to help! We accidentally spilled a swig of wine in our child’s meal 🙃 and they were so so good about it! They refused us to pay for another kids meal. And brought it out promptly! Each of our four meals were excellent. Presentation was great and taste was fantastic! You can’t beat a fast friendly staff member like Raquel! You made our night! Thanks The views are beautiful the kids are was excellent!
When we arrived it was 20mins to 5pm- they open dinner at 5pm. There was no tables without a reserved sign despite having exactly three people sitting in the entire tavern. There was one table with no reserved sign on the end near kids room( highly desirable as we had children dinning as well) The minute my husband left to take the kids into the kids space… the sour staff mem ever Jess swooped in! She slammed a reserved sign on the table I was sitting at( and we had been there 1mins. Because I was breastfeeding this was abrupt and scared my tiny baby. I asked her what she suggests I do seeing she just reserved a table I was at. I told her I’d never have sat down if I knew. And I told her we were about to have dinner. And she vaguely pointed that there might be a round table the other end( nowhere near the kids room!) so we went and asked the lovely staff if there( because they were still empty now it was 5:05pm) what should we do- how could we possibly have a spot a little closer to Kids- and so kind they accommodated us 😀 which is great because we left before 10mins to 6pm - lovely meal after all! Thanks staff! I turned around my dissatisfied and about to be 1 star review- I can’t give you 5 until you train your staff to be like Raquel- maybe use Raquel. I even went back to formally thank Raquel and ask if one of the staff could take the small collection of broken things I found in the kids room(hello choking hazard averted) and I still wasn’t met with so much as a thanks- but I did learn your name Jess. If I get you again- I’ll ask if you’ve received this…? After being a small business owner and about 20 years in customer service myself- I...
Read more29/9/24 - Firstly, I rang during the week & made a booking for 1130, inside as my friend couldn't be in direct sunlight or reflection. Arrived & table was reserved outside. Moved inside. Upon ordering at 1200, I explained to the lady taking the orders that my request was going to be slightly different to that on the menu. A cajun grilled chicken breast fillet, bacon, egg & avocado. Nothing else. The lady had to go & ask the kitchen staff, which was ok. When she returned she said she'd put my order through, but ordering sides is not normally done. I queried this & stated again my order, which wasn't sides, so she could type it in correctly. She continued with, "I'll put it through, but it's not a normal practice." I stated, "It's like a chicken burger from the menu but no bun, chips, salad or slaw, but add an egg & avo." Finally, I repeated the order again as she appeared to be having trouble entering the information in. She then mentioned the costing & attaching it to an item from the menu. The burger was $25 & $4 extra for the avo. What came out was 1/2 a chicken breast, 2 small slices of bacon, 1/2 an avo fanned over the top with the other 1/2 of the plate being chips & sauce. No egg. I queried where was the egg? "Sorry, that wasn't on the order"...... I also order 2 x rump dishes, a fish n chips & a mains calamari n chips. After paying the total bill of $155.00 I thanked the lady for accommodating my request, shame it didn't come out right. Seriously, if your kitchen staff can't get an order right or the lady taking the order after a detailed conversation around exactly what was wanted, more training is needed. In fairness to the other meals everyone else was happy. So this post is only on my specific request, not all meals. Up from the Sunny Coast & definitely...
Read moreThe food was great However I went to bar to purchase a beverage. By the time I returned the staff had taken my table and gave it to other customers. When they brought meals out they didn't reliase their stuff up. This table of three then got meals separately. I was final acknowledged some fifteen minutes later that my meal was being eaten by other customers. They then proceeded to apologise to this table of three. Not once did I get an apology. Or an explanation to who made the mistake. My suggestions for management keep a better record of who is at each table. To the lady at front of house organising meals out check table numbers on orders ie this case 29. With two orders received. Secondly get your staff who took order to point out client. The meal was great but the front of house team deserve a score of zero due to only acknowledging the customers who arrived latter and not the first to arrive. Truly poor form.
I went back to this establishment a few days latter to have a meal. As I hadn't eaten all day I decided to purchase two meals. The meals were fabulous. However the staff member asked was something wrong with meal. Their was nothing wrong with it I chose to have it on a single plate rather than two. The tone of lady was not impressed by my use of a single plate. I suppose as a single customer I must have been difficult. The gentleman at ordering was more friendly and understanding that some times us males like to eat more red meat. Definitely a ten out ten for him and a two out of ten for the unimpressed...
