I would not recommend this resort because of their known Internet issues. If you are relying on their Internet for joy and entertainment, think again. And even if you use your own, it can be interrupted or non-existent as well, which I found tonight. I’ve been here 3 nights and have many more nights to come It been non-existent every night so far with It constantly freezing or timing out. Taken videos for reference.

Then you have the paid TV channels. There is a constant lag of vibration, muffled voices on near all of the channels that are not free to air. Both of the above have been addressed in emails and gone unanswered. Yet Disclosure to me from them, they have Internet issues. Don’t advertise a service when it’s near non-existent. Disclose it on your website otherwise it’s a deception.

Too many kitchen cupboards. There is a TV unit with the TV sitting on top of it. The unit with shelving underneath is a useless piece of furniture when 1-2 people are here for a short day. And instead of putting the TV on the wall to free up space to put luggage is a far better solution and use of space. I had to open my bag on the floor to get my clothes out, which isn’t great for my back If I could post a photo I would

The location is great The room is spacious The bed is comfortable enough, but it’s a bit toofirm The balcony is Generous The outdoor furniture is comfortable and practical to move around The small table and chairs inside is big enough for 1-2 people. The chairs are ultra comfortable, but they’re too low for the height of the table. The fridge is a generous size The bathroom is spacious and the water pressure is awesome. However, the small window that views to the public area and back inside to the shower is the only escape for the steam to get out. It was open on my arrival yet when it’s opened there is a privacy breach with the blind broken. i’ve also bought that to their attention in an email and still no response. Too busy for paying guests I guess.

If the Internet or muffled voices and vibration on tv channels don’t bother you, so be it. They do me and I’m angry. But when you’re inside at night after a full day out, the Internet is a big part of your your enjoyment and entertainment for down time back in your room, It’s a service they offer on their website. Yet, it’s not a service when it’s non-existent. And although it’s free/part of your room costs., it’s pointless if you can’t use it. I couldn’t even use my own data tonight.

Anyway, they’re constant too busy or avoidance to get back to me, addressed and fix these problems won’t stop me from making a complaint further. If I could book and go somewhere else that suits me for my remaining 7 nights, I would. I’m here on my own, so the Internet is important, especially when you have a TV that doesn’t completely work either

Just a few things to think about, because despite being out during the day when you’re on holidays that Internet is needed and used. Therefore, it’s important to...

Overall: This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay, with a perfect location and incredibly helping & kind staff.

For our first time in Cairns (& first trip to Australia), we stayed here to enjoy the stereotypical tourist attractions and beach. That said, we had no plan beforehand. Because we checked in late, we had to go to reception the next day to drop off forms, etc. We got there and immediately the receptionist, Amanda (who was there every day we stayed) started recommending the best things to see/do, and how. In no way did it feel like she was trying to ‘sell’ us with experiences (even if she was, she deserves it!), and instead she just seemed excited to help and make sure we see the beauty of the area. Within 45 mins we had filled up the entirety of our stay with plans, and not only was Amanda thoughtful and patient, but she had done all of the calling, reserving/booking, and even helped us book taxis at specific times from the hotel. These ‘attractions’ ended up being exactly what we had hoped to do, and we are overall just so happy we chose to stay here.

The place itself is in a great location, especially for easy access to all of the northern beaches. And there are some great restaurants very close by (HIGHLY recommend the tapas place next door, EazyTiger!). Groceries are a bit tough without a car, but there is a small convenience store about 3 mins walking towards the beach — which, itself, is about 5 mins or less from our front door (see pics attached). Getting to any other northern beach is also quite easy, with a bus line directly next to the convenience store. Also, if you wanted (as we did), you can walk on the beach all the way to Palm Cove after only 1km~ (.6 miles) through a neighborhood from the hotel (Trinity beach is rocky to the north & south, but the short walk is worth it!).

Lastly — because we basically only slept there, haha — the room itself is spacious and, surprisingly, the A/C totally blocks the heat and humidity, especially at night. The ONLY issue we had was with the Wi-Fi. It requires you to log in via a pop-up almost every 15 mins, and after doing so, it rarely worked if at all. I needed it only once for a Zoom meeting during our stay, and thankfully audio (but no video) calling worked okay until around 8:30am, which I think is when most people in the complex started (trying) to use it themselves. Maybe it’s typical for the area, and for us it wasn’t a huge deal, just FYI!

Again. Internet or not - I cannot recommend this place enough for the...

My daughter booked 2 ground floor rooms to be together months ago and also requested that they were to be accessible for a power chair. Arrived, rooms in two separate buildings neither on ground floor. Told they were accessible by lift. Power chair up to 3rd floor via a small ramp over the bottom step and very small lift. Not ideal if there is an evacuation and the lift is unusable. Husband did not feel safe. Went to reception to voice (I talk loudly when angry) my displeasure at the change in our booking that was not acceptable and it seems boss lady was displeased with my attitude for not being happy with an upgrade (because it had a washer and dryer) to a third floor room in a separate building when we had specifically requested 2 ground floor rooms together. Apparently I was ungrateful and had no right to show my displeasure as it seems they can change your booking at will to suit their purpose, without notifying you. We were apparently lucky we had not been put in some other building that was even less accessible. Daughters room was in a block that had no step at the bottom and only up 1 level which would have been at least a little more accessible and if there was an evacuation issue and we had been together, as requested, they could have helped my husband down to safety. Came back down stairs to go for dinner and luckily walked in front of the power chair only to find the ramp had been removed from the bottom step and husband would have gone over step in the chair. Had to get him out of chair and down step then lift the chair down the step. Daughter rang the after hours number to ask where the ramp was and was told that they never said it was wheel chair friendly and the ramp was for the cleaners trolley. They did say they would get it put back but on dinner return there was no ramp. Ramp re appeared the next morning for the day but again on our check out the following morning we came down to no ramp in place. Free Wifi was almost non existent and very slow if you could manage to connect. Even though you pay a daily rate the rooms are not serviced, you are required to remove all your rubbish, wash dishes and clean floors before check out or a further $50 fee will be charged. More suited to be an Air BNB than Resort as they are individually owned units that the owners can over ride your booking. Not recommended for anyone with accessibility issues. Some blocks have no lift and up to 4...

Blue Lagoon Resort 25/12/2021-1/01/2022 Simply awesome accommodation. I booked the accommodation in June 2021 so it was a long way from Xmas but took a risk as ScoMo said the borders would be open. First time to Cairns & FNQ so it was all a new experience. I used booking.com to make the booking & I was so hesitant since I got totally trashed in 2020 Covid situation but I had 14 days out from the accommodation start date to cancel with full refund. After making booking I made email contact with Mandy in the office as I had no idea how the layout of the Resort was & if upstairs, may partner has difficulties with stairs. The reply was prompt & efficient. All special requests were handled with ease including a transfer from Cairns Airport. Upon arrival, we were dropped at reception by organised transfer & Mandy greeted us. Our room was 1431 in block D. It was overlooking the pool & had a balcony that you can sit out on enjoying the view of the Lagoon. The room was clean, spacious & made the holiday really great. In the apartment there is clothes washing & drying facilities, shower walk in, cooking facilities (stove top), microwave, huge king size bed, fridge & freezer, all cutlery supplied. There is two pools available one mainly for families & the quiet pool (which also has more shade) both are 1.8mtr deep. Both appeared to be no so chlorinated so good on the eyes. The Resort is 800mtrs from the beach front & down on the Esplanade there is the Trinity Beach Tavern, Thai restaurant, Beach House Restaurant, L'Unico Italian Restaurant ( see my other reviews) & a small supermarket/convenience store. This accommodation has been one of the best I have stayed in all my travels over the world in the last 20years & Trinity Beach is a great place to relax & recharge the soul battery. Thankyou Mandy & crew for making our holiday awesome ❤️

We stayed here for a week. When we arrived, we found a pair of shorts that did not belong to us, half under the bed as well as two empty Oreo packets. Our clean towels had stains on them, our floor felt dirty as well. When we used cutlery we had to clean them first as there was food residue on them…. Our room also flooded on the last day from the hot water system… there was a sign that said to turn off taps to the washing machine as this happens, however we did turn the taps off half way through our stay and this happened 3 days later. Our fridge was not very cold at all! I also looked under the bed as we packed up, to find a sock and a smartie packet also under the bed. This did not belong to us. The wifi was also horrible and didnt work very well at all! It kept disconnecting. The walls and ceilings were paper thin. We could hear the people above us and next to us at all hours of the night. The pool was nice and heated, they did also come in and give us new linen half way through our stay. A good distance from the shops/restaurants close by. Personally I would not stay here again.
