This is a lovely Japanese Sushi Train restaurant in the town of Mackay. There’s a good range of various sushi and rolls available on the train and from the menu which can be ordered. Some menu item can take a while to arrive even though you are sitting right next to the sushi making kitchen. Taste wise, what I’ve had were tasty in terms of the condiment around the rice but definitely not the authentic Japanese sushi rice flavour (P.S. most workers are Korean so I am assuming owner is Korean). Fresh salmon with the sushi didn’t have that ‘wow’ freshness factor but was still enjoyable. By the way, I am being a real food critic here as I am from a bigger town/state elsewhere where much more selections of restaurants and quality are available. Read moreNow, I don't leave bad reviews at all normally, and I understand you guys have had some staffing issues. But the quality of you products has gone down greatly. The rice paper is soggy and falls apart, the way the ingredients are rolled and stuffed leads to something that is impossible to eat with out it falling apart. But please work on being better and to the quality I know you...
Read moreSince when did sushi cost north of $85 dollars? I travel a lot for business and the cost of a sushi roll in Brisbane (big one) is between $3.80 (your tunas and salmon s and karaages) and $4.40 (premium). Wara sushi's baby rolls cost $5.50, a medium roll $6.00 and a big roll costs $6.50!!!! That's a markup of between 33% and 37% for the exact same thing. A salmon poke bowl in Brisbane costs $14.10 and a Salmon Don dish costs a whopping $22.00!!!...a 37% markup!!! And a poke bowl is loaded with far more ingredients than a Don dish!!! Ignorance is bliss I guess and I hope this helps people make...
