We chose YOYO based on their broad Tapas menu and their location across from the Noosa river. We were fortunate to get a park about 50 metres from YOYO - bonus.
We, three, were seated at a high table next to the bar. For us this was a great seating location to sit back and relax.
The ambience was very good, it was easy to chat amongst ourselves while indulging in a cocktail or two. With the restuarant full the noise level was no problem.
My preference was an Old Fashioned which was a little bit on the weak side, but the 2nd one was spot on. The ladies were not disappointed with their cocktails.
Food was very nice and of good share size.
We went with the beetroot, calamari, beef tartare, moreton bay bugs, mussels (in shell) and the truffle fries. All the food was very tasty and on the whole delish. The bread that came with the mussels etc was very nice and of good size pieces.
A couple let downs being:
The mussels - the pieces of meat were very small (about the size of an average index finger nail), the mussel broth was spot on. The truffle fries were delish, but over salted.
The two front of house personnel did an amazing job preparing drinks and taking food to the tables - well done. Special mention goes to the chef for keeping up with demand - once again well done.
All up for 8 cocktails and tapas, the bill was $330.00. We...
Read moreHad lunch at this place on a whim and it turned out to be one of the best spontaneous decisions ever.
The charred octopus was beautifully grilled with all its flavor yet not overdone so it maintained its tenderness (overdone octopus becomes rubbery and tough) - a dish which requires skills. Yet, this was outdone by the dish of Hiramasa Kingfish. The fillet was a thick and generous portion, which itself poses as a challenge as its difficult to gauge if the middle is done, risking burning the outside. Nevertheless, the fish was skillfully cooked, resulting in a beautifully moist and flavourful dish with a delightlfully crispy skin. Both dishes were perfection, all the way down to the accompanying kumara and pickled carrot. I could sing about the kumara for days - thinly sliced and roasted to slight crispiness. We also had the duck rillettes - a perfect sharing dish and accompanying tapas for drinks.
The selection of alcoholic drinks were also impressive and tastefully curated. Wait staff were friendly and happy to offer recommendations.
10/10 one of the best experiences I've had on the Sunny Coast. Highly...

Nice non-pretentious restaurant with great friendly service and sensational food.
I have visited some famous fine dining restaurants in Sydney (where I live) and the food at this place is probably better than a lot of them. The chicken liver pate has fantastic deep balanced flavours that pair well with a lot of wines. It’s delicious! The seared yellowfin tuna is simply insane! Even my fiancé who does not really eat fish loved it. It is a complex dish made of premium tuna and is amazing!
The menu has a lot of interesting items that all sound delicious and after trying a few I am sure the rest are also worth trying.
The restaurant has a great wine list and drinks menu. We had the Spanish Rose and it was delicate, tasty and well suited to the food we had.
We will definitely revisit this place. I wish I could rate the food higher than 5 stars! I cannot recommend it enough! Just go there and have a sensational meal!
(Our costs include almost 2 bottles of wine so this is great value for the food quality and service you...
