Food was pretty standard for Zambreros. No complaint there really. There was, however, a very strange vibe in this place. One young girl in full uniform working (nothing out of the ordinary), but there was one older woman in a casual dress, with her hair in a loose pony tail. Perhaps she was the manager? Either way, WHS is pretty standard throughout Australia now, and I was shocked to see this woman did not have a hairnet on, or a uniform, when all other Zambreros staff I have seen are always wearing a full uniform with a hat/hairnet. The lady in the dress served my partner first, and then i was left standing until her Burrito was made. She then told my partner that she prefers to make the meals separate to avoid confusion. Good in theory, but in practice, it makes for slow service and hungry customers. The young girl then finished the payment for the customers before us, and started to make my order. Meanwhile, the lady in the dress forgot about the first customers nachos in the oven, pulled them out and they were black. She then handed them to the customers, with nothing said regarding the black chips... My nachos were placed in the oven by the young girl, who then served the 2 customers behind us. The lady in the dress then waited at the oven for my nachos to cook. I saw my cheese begin to bubble, at this point, the lady in the dress removed her mobile phone and took a loud phone call. I feared my nachos may burn like the ones before, but she finished her phonecall just in time. Lucky. Meals were complete in just under 10 minutes, and me and my partner both sat down to eat. Then we quickly realised, no music! What would satisfy our ears while the food satisfied our mouths?? Overall, the food was pleasant. But the lady in the dress and the no music put off a very uncomfortable vibe. Normally i would give a Zambreros a 4 out of 5...
Read moreWe went in today with my family and it was the worst service we’ve had at a Zambrero. He had absolutely no consideration for any dietary requirements.
Both my mum and sister have dairy allergies and asked for vegan cheese. He would pick up the normal cheese and then keep the same gloves on and start picking up the vegan cheese and was getting the normal cheese in the vegan cheese which could cause people to get sick.
He would also fish his hands around the meat and then fish around in the vegetables immediately after and get all the juices in there. He didn’t change gloves the whole time we were there until we specifically requested it.
The meat also looked disgusting. All of it just looked like slop. The chicken was like a brown green colour. And there were flies hanging around the meats and they kept getting left uncovered. The meat has never been like this at any other Zambrero we have visited.
We had to explain our order to him multiple times before he actually understood what we were talking about and ended up completely burning our food...
Read moreI usually love zambrero but this time when I went there a young lady was taking my order. What I don’t like is she was wearing same set of gloves she used with previous order which contains chicken and mine order was regular veg bowl and then she started wiping the shelf with those same gloved hands and then again with those same dirty gloved hands she started putting food in my container which was very very unhygienic. One time she was wiping the shelf or here and there and same time she was using same gloved hands to serve the food. It’s not only about my order but the way she was putting her dirty gloved hands in the corns, onions and tomatoes salsa was very unhygienic and contamination of food. And after watching all that wasn’t able to eat that food so it went straight to the...
