Jimmy's Thai — Restaurant in Renmark

We had planned to have lunch at this Thai restaurant as we were visiting renmark. We ordered the chicken curry puffs and chicken wings for entrée and chicken red curry for mains. The food was absolutely great and different compared to other Thai restaurants I've been in adelaide.

The chicken curry puffs had a blend of sweet and purple potatoes in the mix, which was unique. The chicken wings were the crispiest wings I've ever had. The chicken red curry was our favourite. It was truly delicious. I have never had or seen a red curry with that kind of spice blend. It was very unique from colours to the taste 👌, and it came out with a good amount of heat as we requested 'Thai Hot' 🌶.

Taking everything into consideration, I believe that it was real authentic Thai food as I have tried a lot of Thai restaurants in adelaide and never had this experience before. The portion sizes were also outstanding and reasonably priced for a regional town.

The service was excellent, and the lady at the front was very fast, attentive, and nice. We also had the chance to speak with the owner, Jimmy, who is also a very nice and humble person. I was hoping for Som Tam(Papaya Salad), but even without it, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The flavours were richer and bolder than other Thai food I’ve had—slightly sweeter and saltier but well-balanced.

Satay Chicken: Creamy coconut and nutty flavours paired perfectly with the grilled chicken.

Pad Thai: We tried both chicken and shrimp—both were great, but the shrimp was outstanding!

Chicken Fried Rice: A bit simple and a smaller portion, but still good.

Thai Pork Belly: Crispy pork belly with veggies in a special soy sauce—perfect with rice!

We went for camping at Big4 Riverfront. Then we looked for good food around the town thru online and driving around. We have found this place with good reviews too. We tried it and I must say, I have nothing to say against this takeaway/restaurant. Service is beyond outstanding, the lady that serves the food has assisted us and anticipated our needs even before we ask. She is so pleasant and kind. The place, utensils are so clean, the ambiance is more like a restaurant rather than take away. The food is sooooooo good! Best thai food we have ever tried, we were hungry and we ended up in this perfect place, so surreal. The chef/Jimmy came out himself to serve our requested special thai sauce.
