Food was nice but a bit more expensive than $20 a head per person for lunch. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food.

Unfortunately our order was not correct. I requested a burger with no cheese due to an allergy the girl taking the order read it back to me, this was great. When it arrives the first wait staff member tried to give it to us. I explained I had requested a burger without cheese, she walked away with the burger a second wait staff immediately came back and tried to give it to us. I explained for the second time we had ordered a burger without cheese. The staff member walked back to the kiosk and retuned less than a minute later with the burger. They had obviously simply scrapped the cheese off the burger. Rather than making a scene we adapted and overcome the issue ourselves. This was disappointing, people do not choose to have food allergies. The staff person taking my order(brunette with nose piercing) was upbeat polite and positive, unfortunately the two wait staff members that waited on us appeared like they did not want...

Sawtell's Kiosk Cafe is usually a great spot with excellent service, delicious food, and an amazing oceanfront location. However, my recent visit was marred by a staff member - a man with short dark hair and a scruffy, unshaven short beard, wearing a hoodie and blue jeans - who was super abrupt and almost rude. He severely lacked professionalism, and didn't seem to understand the basics of customer service. Despite the busy periods, I believe customer service is crucial in bringing people back. Tucked up the side of the Surf Life Save Club in Sawtell, you’d be forgiven for missing this place if you only ever walked along Main Street. Which is why I am posting! The view from the deck is amazing and the food was excellent given this is a humble kiosk. Juices, shakes, coffees. Great. Burgers, eggs, toast. Easy. And the chips, proper chips, with crunch on outside and softness inside, a sprinkle of sea salt, perfection.
