We held my sons 2nd birthday party at The Lark on Saturday from 12-2pm and I was so impressed from start to finish. From my initial inquiry to clean up at the end of the party everything was smooth sailing and all taken care of. The team there had everything you could wish for from party invites, table set up and room layout, music options, the menu - the party food was absolutely delicious, the kids (and adults) loved the menu and it was all set out and then cleared away for the next course with perfect timing. All that was left for me to do was show up, pop in some decorations and wait for people to arrive - the team were also more than happy to assist me with hanging Birthday banners and balloons! The kids had so many options in terms of toys to play with and it was such a beautiful day that at the end of the party they all went outside to the stunning enclosed nature playground. No request was too big or small, I was totally overwhelmed by the service and recommend The Lark to anyone looking for a venue to hire or a place to escape with the kids and enjoy a tea/coffee and some excellent food and service. Only thing letting them down is the attitude towards paying customers.I purchased multiple food and drinks but I had some strawberries and a biscuit from home for my baby who was hungry. I got a lecture from the wait staff that I have to only purchase food from their counter because they are non-profit. Even though I had already purchased food from the cabinet that my baby could eat and the fruit they were selling wasn’t suitable for my baby’s eating development. Then I had the waitstaff hovering from the doorway to keep checking and looking at me. I probably won’t go back after that experience and will support other local coffee shops. I’m really disappointed from the experience and would have expected more from a coffee shop run...
Read moreLark in Scarborough is such a gem for families! 🏡🌿 Tucked inside the Scarborough Baptist building, it’s easy to miss but worth finding. The huge leafy playground makes it perfect for kids, while parents can relax with great coffee and affordable food.
Coffee is Five Senses — smooth, consistent, and well-priced at $5.70 (one of the cheapest around!). Service is always friendly, though it can get busy on weekends and school holidays.
Best for mums’ groups, family outings, or kids’ birthdays — not so much a quiet date spot, but unbeatable if you’ve got little ones in tow. 🌞
