Service was friendly and quick. We made a booking for two at 5pm on the phone. When we got there we were seated outdoors quickly. Tables were prepared with our name on it already. Table water came immediately. Atmosphere was lovely but not too noisy. A few tables filled with young families. Not noisy nor rowdy. We could have a conversation without shouting. Tables well spaced out.
Menu has something for everyone. Menu had a great range of pizzas, salads and cakes. -Pasta and mains menu from pizzaca 2 doors down had a good range as well. We wanted to try everything.
Food is fresh, flavours are robust and servicing sizes are big. We had the small vege pizza, fettucini chicken and prawn in cream sauce, Caesar salad and a raspberry tim tam cheese cake. Cream pasta was rich but not to heavy, not overpowering. Serving size was BIG. The texture and flavours were spot on. Pizza had nice thin crust. Crunchy, not hard and soft inside. Robust flavours in every bite. We could taste the freshness of the ingredients. We couldn't finish the pizza so we took that home. Caesar salad was well put together. Just the right amount of every ingredient. Salad leaves were crazy fresh, not a single brown spot on any leaf. It was a little too much sauce for our liking (we're healthy eaters). We should have asked for sauce on the side. Cheesecake went down easily. Very balanced, not too sweet, sufficient biscuit crumb at the bottom which wasn't too hard and not soggy, just the right density of cheese (thick).
Toilets not far away but not disability friendly Toilets located at the back of the block have steps and are a wee bit squeezy. Not disability friendly. But at least there are toilets nearby!
Takes us 30+ minutes to get to pizzaca from the south but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat service, relatively well priced and nice ambience, but the food just lacked flavour.
We had the bread with crab for entree and it was delicious. We burn our mouths eating est but we didn't care because it was so good, we just kept going for more. However, sadly things went downhill from here.
We had gnocchi with pesto and hazelnut. By reading that it sounds like an explosion of flavour. But it was the opposite. I was wondering if I had COVID because I couldn't taste any pesto or hazelnuts at all. It was an extremely bland flavour.
We then had the underbelly Pizza with anchovies and prosciutto. And even though the crust was perfect, there were so many toppings and they just didn't work well with each other. It was like when you go to the frozen yoghurt store and add too many toppings so that you get something that tastes like none of them.
For dessert we were looking forward for the tiramisĆŗ or the sticky date pudding, but they didn't have either. So we went for an apple crumble but it was lacking crumble. The apple and the sauces tasted great but there was not nearly enough crunch. Once in a while you'd get a bit of crumble and realise how good this dish could be if there was more of it.
Lastly, if you are planning to use the Entertainment Book discount, be aware that it applies only to pasta dishes. This is not mentioned on the T&C's of the offer. It's not a deal breaker because the dishes are very well priced, but they should remove the offer entirely as it feels like false advertising.
The service was great throughout the night, though; so in the end we did enjoy ourselves but probably won't be coming back. Might stick to just ordering pizzas...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been to Pizzaca a few times and always enjoy the food. This morning I tried brunch for the first time. Although I thought the food was delicious (as usual), they got our order wrong and we had to all wait for one personās meal to get cooked again from scratch. A nice waitress offered us a piece of cake to takeaway to compensate which was lovely of her and we were extremely grateful. One of the other waitresses however, was extremely rude when we went to ask for this piece of cake as we were leaving. She asked us very rudely who on earth wouldāve promised us this and made us feel bad for even asking for it. She then tried to serve the next customers in line and get us out of the way when we actually wanted to purchase another 2 pieces of cake so we all had a piece. Her attitude and (lack of) customer service really ruined what was a lovely brunch. I also think itās such a shame that you wouldnāt accept our entertainment book voucher because itās only for the pasta shop, which as I understand is owned by the same people and called the same name? A few disappointments mean Iāve given Pizzaca a 4 instead of a 5 which I actually think...
