Pearl Light Palace — Restaurant in Singleton

Have been ordering Chinese takeaway from the Pearl Light Palace over the last few years, while not being a Michelin 5 star or hatted restaurant they did provide a reasonable meal. Not sure what has happened, very disappointed. Last two times we have ordered takeaway, quality has been well below average. Our last order was the Deluxe Fried Rice, was all rice with a few baby prawns and not much else, this was very bland, more resembled lightly fried gluey, boiled rice. My wife's prawn toast was deep fried sesame seed on bread, if there was prawn paste it was sparse and tasteless. Mains were okay with no difference in flavour, these were similar in flavour Battered Chicken Sweet N Sour , and Tender Crispy Chicken home made Sweet n Sour Hot sauce. Was expecting some heat in the latter, the chicken was crispy, dry and chewy. Unable to rate the atmosphere as we only have takeaway. Definitely not wheelchair or disabled accessible, large steep flight of stairs to negotiate. We do hope they can go back to what they were providing, will look for an alternative for now and might give them another try in about six to...

The best Chinese restaurant in town. Beautiful food, excellent chefs willing to accommodate your needs where they can; lovely hosts.

There is a large car park on the Campbell St side of the building; brightly signed entrance around the corner on John St.

The restaurant is located on the first floor of the building, via a flight of stairs (no lift), but the food more than makes up for the effort required to climb the stairs if you are able bodied.

The restaurant is large enough to be able to accommodate diners without a reservation, and do a wonderful banquet for parties of more than four.

The dishes in the 'To Tickle Your Fancy' section of the menu are a mix of very well priced premium favourites and different dishes that a person of non Chinese origin may not frequently ordered, that are well...

After 20 odd years of dinning at the Pearl Light Palace we have never been disappointed in the food there until now...We have eaten there twice in the last 2 months & both times the food has been awful...the food is bland the sauces watery & lacking in flavour, the batter undercooked, the honey chicken sauce near non existent & when we got Chow Main as a takeaway the amount of noodles that we got in the little bag was pathetic...Needless to say until they pick their act up & start serving the quality of food that they use to we definitely...
