Being local in Singleton, I feel kind of protective of "our own" and WoW is one of the best! To the people who've left reviews saying they "went to McDonalds across the road"(it's not even!)..firstly, good luck.if you prefer a) to support multibillion dollar big business and b) to eat garbage rather than good food, properly prepared! Quirky and unique, Worn Out Wares is a much-loved Singleton institution, situated inside a gift shop and florist. It's deliberately rustic with mis-matched chairs and tables and they use old crockery and silverware. The food is always delicious, I've never met an unfriendly staff member and it's well worth a stop if you're on your way North. If you're local and haven't been there, give them a try. You won't be disappointed. This morning, a light brunch of eggs and toast with scones, jam and cream to finish was perfection. Thank...

We found this place after searching where to stop between Sydney and Brisbane. Wish we didn't.

First thoughts are that this place is cute and attractive with a beaten up style and a florist attached to it.

Then we started to speak to staff. We found them unhelpful and miserable. No one ever smiled and we had to ask more then once if we needed something. It was as if everything was a problem and they hated working there.

We looked around the room to decide on what to order for lunch. I saw a couple of plates come out with I think chicken on but it was covered in what looked like 10 tons of grass cuttings. In the end we ordered a sandwich for the kids which was very nice and just had a coffee and a juice and went to McDonald's...

The best Reuben Sandwich.... ever. Perfection. Thick tender moist slabs of prime We've eaten Rubens from one end of Australia to the other. No.... Not a Reuben obsession... But we do enjoy good food. And... Wait till you taste their Carrot Cake. Moist, firm, beautiful texture and flavour. Not too sweet. Just right. And just enough icing. Sensational. Again, yet to find better in Australia. I know. That's a big call. But well qualified. Have been driving through Singleton 4 or 5 times a year on the way up and down from Sydney to Brisbane for the past 12 years. Worn out Wares is our must stop place. It's worth the 2 1/2 hour drive up...

I'm back in Singleton after a bit of driving and some customer meetings and intended buying Subway salad for lunch but there was a long line up, so I drove to 'Worn out wares' cafe and antique shop. I ordered a "Nourish Salad" and received this work of art! I didn't feel like destroying the artistry to eat it! The artistry wasnot only in the presentation, but the taste was exquisite! Salad leaves, Hunter Belle cheese, sweet pickled and fresh vegetables, honey dressing and with added smoked salmon: it was delicious! Staff were very friendly with great service. Highly recommended.
