Caledonian Hotel — Restaurant in Singleton

Group of five of us from Sydney were absolutely blown away by the food, service and atmosphere at the Cali. The choice of food was phenomenal but we settled on a Thai feast which we all shared. We had the curry puffs, dim sims, spring rolls and buffalo wings as entrees and Chili Basil Prawns, Green Beef Curry, Pork Belly stir fry, Massaman Beef, Chicken Pad Thai and the Pineapple fried rice as mains. Every single dish was absolutely superb - it was fresh, super tasty and the portion size was excellent. My favourite - Massaman beef was exceptional. We queried with the staff who the chef was and were told that there are four Thai chefs and.a New Zealand chef - we sent our compliments to them for a meal that was incredible. The other stand out were the staff - service was beyond excellent - friendly, warm and attentive. There was a 50th birthday party on at the same time we were there, towards the end of the night one of the people at the party came around the whole pub and offered everyone a piece of birthday cake apparently grandma had make a humongous cake and they had enough for everyone who was at the pub! Talk about atmosphere - amazing. Well done Cali - we will be back with reinforcements and we will tell everyone we know what an awesome establishment...

Arrived at 6.30 PM,enjoyed a pint then about 7.00PM along with the other members of our party we ordered our meals.One hour later we were still waiting,about 8.10 PM the meals started arriving,all but the meal my wife ordered,which didn't come until my wife inquired at the order counter as to when it could be expected about ten minutes later it arrived,minus at least one ingredient.I must say in the Cali's favour that the food was of quite good quality even though my "blue steak"came out medium.I did enjoy the chips,some of the best I've had with a pub meal.I don't think the pub was all that busy that night so maybe more kitchen staff would be advisable for...

Great pub vibe, food and service. We took family for Sunday lunch. Had Sunday roast lamb and it was tender and delicious. So reasonably priced too. Our son enjoyed his kids burger, chips and ice cream. My husband enjoyed his steak and salad and chips and sticky date pudding too. Coffee good also. Air conditioing was lovely on such a hot 34 degrees day. You can eat inside or outside in beer garden. They also offer great Thai food and desserts.
