Sweet potato fries were very, very good. Big serving in the share bowl for a fair price.

Now that all the positives are taken care of...

When our food made it to the table we found out that all the cutlery in store was dirty and we'd have to wait until the dishwasher cycle ended before there would be some for us.

The shop was only about half full which made me wonder what they'd do on a night that they were packed out...but then we got our food and I realised that that was a bridge that probably wouldn't need to be crossed.

The ribs we bought were completely burnt. Not the good char flavour kind either. Just straight up burnt toast flavour.

There was a lot of sauce on half of the ribs attempting to hide the thick layer of charcoal which was about as effective as a toddler with his hands over his own eyes so that you can't see him.

The other half of not-so-burnt ribs were very bland. I was surprised at how all I could taste was a subtle second hand smoke flavor and literally nothing else. Very bizarre.

Even though I rode 100km on my push bike today, my super human appetite wasn't enough to will me through eating them.

We ended up talking to the staff about it and getting our money back for the ribs with apologies.

Apparently the chef on duty tonight was a combination of approximately 4 different people who kept leaving for some reason or another.

I'm not sure how that exactly works, but at least they were happy enough to refund the ribs.

The air con piping running along the wall of one side of the shop had heavy condensation on it which kept dropping and bouncing off wooden decorative features on the wall spraying over me and my plate.

At first I thought that I had unwittingly picked the unluckiest seat in the house, but then realized it was common to almost all the tables up against this wall.

I've heard lots of good things about this place, but unfortunately tonight was a bit of a let down.

Judging by all the positive reviews I think it's worth giving this place a try if you're in the area, but it's probably a good idea to peruse the comments and see what the quality menu items are to avoid coming out like we did tonight.
