Sadly we had a very disappointing experience for Mother’s Day brunch at Frankie’s. Despite reserving a table, we had wait 20mins to be seated. This in of itself is fine and to be expected on a busy morning like Mother’s Day. However, when were seated were placed at a table on the street with no cover from the elements, and using the council concrete benches for seats and deck chairs that were so low and unusable with the table (I had to eat with my plate in my lap). The fabric of the deck chairs was also dirty and weathered. did ask to be moved, but because they were busy there were no other tables.
The food we received was average. the $7 milkshakes were small, room temperature, and tasted just like hot chocolate powder in milk - no ice cream - just underflavoured milk. The Ruben burger was ok but a little unbalanced towards over-seasoned.
I understand it was a busy morning for the staff of this cafe, and apologies were made for how long food was taking, but the quality of the food and service was just not up to the expectations gathered from other reviews here.
The cafe looks like it has potential to be awesome on a good day, today however was not a good day for us, and we are unlikely to return for a...
Read moreDog friendly out the front and back. Small cafe, very friendly and chatty service. My daughter who was visiting from NSW, and I came for brunch early this week with her 2 young daughters. Food was top quality. Between us we ordered a date scone, ham and cheese croissant, hotcakes, bacon and egg wrap with hash brown plus a mango juice, baby cinnos and another drink. Chef and assistants were impressed by how 2 little girls could eat all their food. This morning my husband and I came for breakfast. We ordered 2 hot chocolates and 2 bacon and egg wraps with hash browns.I prefer my hot drinks hot but unfotunately the hot chocholate was warm. There were no wraps left so we had the burger instead. Just as nice. Thank you and as locals you will see us again. Hopefully though, the hot chocolate is hot and you...
Read moreWell this was a new experience. Despite being localish’, I hadn’t been to Woombye for a while. In truth I was sent on a hunt for Coffee and found that just after 7am on Sunday, this place is the closest place open nearby Palmwoods.
The service was cheerful and friendly, the coffee was excellent!
I just happened to drive past again 4hrs later to find 3 of Sunshine Coast premier musicians kicking around at this hole in the wall cafe, with one performing.
Swapped the coffee for a beer and stayed for a while.
I haven’t tried the food yet. I’ve been told there are bookable themed dining evenings, which sounded pretty cool.
All in all, for the vibe, service, coffee, music and amazing beverage selection. This cafe is highly...
