I want to respond to a 1 star review left by JB ( it would not allow me to respond directly to his review as I am not connected to this business ). I was in this cafe when this incident occurred yesterday . His children were badly misbehaving , switching the fridges power on and off , banging cutlery hard onto tables , throwing cushions , yelling at top note of their voices and the father sat predominantly on his phone scrolling and not attempting to settle the children or redirect them . I think the staff responded appropriately to what was an out of control situation prompted by this family . As they left , one of the young children was almost hit by a car in the driveway as he rode into oncoming traffic with no parents in view . The car driver was traumatised . The parents were so far away ,that the child had time to ride in front of a car ,almost get hit , turn around when the driver came to a halt , fall off his scooter on the edge of the driveway and run off to his mum crying . And then there was a dispute with the mother mouthing off at the driver ????? We were sitting there watching the whole thing and couldn’t believe the mayhem ! We dine at this cafe several times a week and are local as well and have always received excellent service and food . We are parents of 6 children and the parental supervision that we witnessed was totally absent and it was clear the parents had no situational awareness of the disruption to a whole cafe full of patrons that they directly caused . I feel prompted to write this review as someone who was present to see the whole episode play out and I think it’s unfair to tarnish a business like this when they were more than appropriate in...
Read moreDefinitely a reminder to read the reviews before eating out somewhere. Overall not the best experience. Visited at 7am so of course a bit of a wait time is to be expected, however it was dead. We were first greeted with enthusiasm, however that wore off quite quickly. After ordering our meals, we waited close to 15 minutes for 2 coffees. (Bearing in mind there was no one else waiting to be served or for their coffee orders), and almost 30 minutes for our food, and the quality of the meal was sub par. Although it was quite irritating, this was not the main issue.
Whilst waiting for our meals, we witnessed a gentleman (assuming he is the owner) grunting around the place, and getting into an argument with a poor woman over sourdough bread. Although the matter was quickly resolved by the chef, it did not stop there. Both the barista and (assumed) owner, continued to converse about the matter behind the coffee machine for everyone to hear, and proceeded to continue harassing the customer.
Proceeding with the rest of the visit, the tables were poorly equipped for the service period, being that there was only one set of cutlery at ours and other tables, Unlike the lady with the sourdough, our only interaction with staff was when we ordered and received our food, we did not receive any check backs, and were not felt acknowledged. After collectively spending $70, it is safe to say that I would have rathered spend the money and made it myself at home. The sausages looked, and tasted like coles brand sausages, the poached eggs were almost hard, and the most disappointing part, was the fact that the did not offer hash browns with their...
Read moreThis morning I can safely say me and my family were treated so poorly I had to write a review. This is my first review I’ve written, however I couldn’t let this slide, without people knowing how disgusting we were treated.
My partner, and three beautiful children aged 4/2/4 months went to get a coffee and food. I am a local and live across the road and go to little miss sains daily, and I’ve supported the business for years, as I love supporting local businesses.
My children were excited, and next minute the owner walks out to us, and very very rudely tells us to keep our kids quiet as it’s ruining people’s experience. I was disgusted by this and said to the family let’s pack up and leave. The owner did this publicly in front of his own patrons, leaving our family embarrassed in a public setting. The owner walks out the front and was very angry and aggressive to me, and tells me and the family to never step foot back in the cafe again, to which I replied with pleasure. He was so angry I genuinely thought he was going to physically touch me as he was an inch from my face abusing me.
I would never for the life of my ever step foot back in this venue again. The owner was a horrible person, the experience left me and my family very upset, my children were saying sorry to me which broke my heart as they are little babies who were excited to eat out at a cafe, and the genuine owner kicked a young family of 5 out publicly.
I would say that single fins across the road is the only option for anyone wanting a good coffee and food, who would like to be treated...
