UPDATED 5/8/24 Well, we have now been here 3 times and each time has been better than the last. Working our way through the menu! We had sushi this time, and it was so very very fresh and delicious. I think i'm addicted.
My husband and I had lunch here today for the first time. We don't eat out very often, not because of money, but because I am a home chef and we are usually very disappointed...EVERY TIME. After reading the all the reviews on MoonBear, even the 1 star ones, and investigating the menu, we were quite excited to try it anyway. We booked a tables for 12pm, arriving 5 minutes early, and were seated instantly. The place was actually quite busy, only 4 or 5 spare tables. Water arrived within 30 seconds. Imogen, working the front counter today, was so lovely and friendly, very helpful and polite. She explained you can order by the QRcode on the table (absolutely NO) or order from the counter. We ordered 2 bubble drinks, 2 entrees and 2 mains. Despite it being relatively busy, our entrees arrived within 20 minutes, and Imogen had made our bubble drinks at the same time, despite serving 20 or so other people in between. Wonderful. The bubble drinks were an absolute delight, the crab and chicken skewer entrees were spectacular, and the crispy beef with plum and honey sauce unbelievable. And that is saying something!! We have eaten at 5 star restaurants with 3 hat chefs and walked away disappointed. So.. To say the food was sublime 👌 😋 is for reals! Lovely cozy atmosphere, only let down was the traffic noise, but hey, it is on a main road after all! Compliments to the chefs, as owners of this place you should be proud! Imogen is an absolute asset, the lady serving the food was so sweet and lovely too (sorry we didn't get your name.) We will most definitely be back!!!! Prices are incredible, ...
Read moreWhen I walked into Moon Bear Sushi & Charcoal Grill, I was ready for a dining adventure, but little did I know, the real star of the show would be… the water.
After sitting down and being greeted by the friendly waiter, she brought out a beautiful, chilled jug of the clearest, most refreshing water I’ve ever tasted. I sipped it and immediately knew I was in for something special.
One jug down, and I found myself craving more of that crisp goodness. So, I did what any sane person would do: I asked for another jug. The waiter smiled, clearly impressed by my dedication to hydration, and soon enough, jug number two appeared. This water was so pure, so delightful, that I couldn’t resist asking for a third jug.
By this point, I was fully committed to the water experience. Jug number three? Check. Jug number four? You better believe it. I was riding the high of hydration like never before.
And then, for the grand finale, I decided to take things up a notch. I ordered a sparkling water to go. Moments later, I was handed a perfectly chilled bottle of sparkling water, the bubbles dancing in the light like a celebration of all the water that had come before.
Oh, and the food? It was great too. The sushi was fresh, my curry rice bowl spot on, but let's be honest—I'll be coming back for the water. Four jugs and a sparkling water to go later, I can safely say this was the best water experience of my life.
10/10 would recommend to anyone who appreciates top-tier hydration (and maybe even...
Read moreHad been looking forward to trying this place for a very long time as I have friends that live nearby. We ordered ( kaki furai- oysters ) I understand they're seasonal however they were very small compared to all the pictures in the reviews attached. I'm not a big fan of the popcorn chicken. I didn't like the seasoning. ( It tasted a bit raw , ( like when you have uncooked flour) I prefer standard karaage chicken but some others may like it. . The Dragon roll was very good . The gyoza, although quite juicy and tasty. It really put me off that it was a bit pink inside. I know it's often a little pink in lots of Japanese restaurants and I can forgive that, however it was also not hot in the middle. I don't think it was steamed long enough. I think it's great you don't use plastic bowls etc. Like some others on the coast. But no dipping bowls for the shoyu & wasabi and no bowl or dipping sauce for the gyoza.!! The tap beer was barely a pint and pricey at $12. The service was...
