Love the restaurant decor and ambience and service was amazing. Our lady server was very bubbly and super nice. We ordered a variety of dishes to get a taste of everything. The kingfish was very good, super fresh and was sliced thick. The addition of the citrus in the fennel and the kosho was super refreshing and tangy and balanced out the dish well. The corn dish was AMAZING. The teriyaki Mayo was savory and smokey and the corn was sweet and charred which paired well with the sauce and the salted ricotta on top just made the dish chef’s kiss! I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a assorted yakitori option like on the website so that we could get a taste of all the yakitoris. The tsukune smelt amazing and chargrilled when it arrived but the flavouring was quite bland and one note. The egg yolk and sauce sauce and wasabi was its saving grace. The thigh yakitori was amazing however, perfectly seasoned good amount of saltiness and sweetness with the charcoal flavour and was juicy. The wagyu beef was very tender and you could taste the smokiness and the wasabi and onions really balanced out the fattiness of the protein. The tan tan men was more of a dry noodle than a soup noodle. I tasted all the toppings individually and they were all really nicely seasoned and tasty, however when everything was mixed with the sesame base it kind of drowned everything out. The sauce was too overpowering and rich and monotone. There was some chilli oil on top I presume to balance it all out but it was lacking In terms of spiciness and flavour. For dessert we ordered the hojicha ice cream and the matcha tiramisu. The ice cream was good, nice light hojicha flavour and complemented the peaches well, but it was more like eating poached peaches with a tiny quenelle of ice cream on the side. The matcha tiramisu was amazing, must get item for dessert! The mascarpone cream was creamy and not too sweet and there was some citrus component to it, yuzu maybe? Which really balanced out the creaminess of the dessert and there was a good amount of matcha flavour. The dalgona was a really nice crunchy addition and the honey in the dalgona gave it a nice accent. I feel like some espresso maybe soaked in the lady fingers as well may have elevated the tiramisu more but it was still delicious as it is. Overall great experience at Chako, very keen to return to try out the rest...

I came here for dinner i was alone. I walked in the waiter said would like a table or at the chef bench? I said lets do the bench.
He offered me water i said ill have still water and a cocktail, i also ordered the 10 piece sashimi. It was super fresh. I really liked the home made soy sauce it had a bit of sake and some other ingredients, it was so balanced it didnt not over power the sashimi. I was sitting eating and the chef said to me how is everything insaid its amazing! I asked her what do you Recommend from the menu? The chef said i reccommend the Scallops skewers. I said ok lets try them i was also thinking the tiger king prawns she was like great choice. I watched the filipino chef cook the scallops they or cooked directly on the coal, they are cooked to perfection and the taste of the col does not over power the scallop, it was cooked to perfection with the middle still being Slightly raw. I had 3 cocktails they all where made so well. Can not wait to go back and try more things...
Read moreGood Food .. Service Rude! From the moment we walked in after making a booking and walking into a nearly empty restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, we were greeted by a seemingly unhappy young woman, and in an open kitchen, the staff evidently in the same frame of mind. Not a smile amongst anybody.
We made our reservation online for 1:30pm, (max. 2hr stay), after ordering a few starters, we waited forty five minutes for all of it to arrive, when we asked where the remainder of our starters were, the server said that it took longer for the tempura eggplant to prepare. Would have been nice to have been told that when ordering. After all of our starters arrived, we were then asked if we wanted to order anything else as the kitchen was closing in ten minutes 2:30pm. What!? Why was that not conveyed to us when we were reserving our booking, which by the way, required a credit card to secure the reservation with a $40 per person no show penalty. Unless we ordered immediately, we were welcome to stay until 3:00pm, however without any additional food.
Cut to the chase, we felt as if the poor service chased us away. We couldn't wait to get out of there. No hospitality whatsoever! ATM, no interest at all in returning. The icing on the chase away cake came as my husband was paying, and when asked by the server if he wanted the receipt, he said yes, at which she literally flicked him the docket with barely a look ,let alone a thank you for coming and with a huge dose of bad attitude. Wow! Insulting! Unless the staff and management change, we have no interest in going back. If you want good food matched with good service, Market Bistro and Bottarga both down the road in Maroochydore never disappoint! The hardest thing about writing a review like this.... the food was actually quite delicious. But the service really left a bad taste...
