Sorrentos by the Beach — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

We went to Sorrento's on a whim on Saturday morning, I wish we hadn't, there are so many great breakfast options in Coolum, Sorrento's is not one of them, it was a very disappointing experience.

The lady behind the counter wasn't friendly and welcoming. The menu is scattered on numerous boards in different places around the café, it's pretty hard to navigate, especially for two young children. I approached the counter and was greeted in an impatient manner with 'Oh, you're ready to order now' - not a great start.

I ordered. Shortly after ordering, I realised they offer gluten free options. I went back to the counter and asked, if it's not too late, please can I have gluten free bread with the big breakfast. I was told 'no, it's too late, it's just being plated up' Fair enough, if it's just being plated up, I'm too late. I went back to the table and the food arrived more than twenty minutes later. I very much doubt it had been plated up when I asked for it to be changed and if it had been plated up, why was it sat in the kitchen for over twenty minutes and not served to me! The customer service is very much lacking.

When the food arrived, it was really disappointing, the majority of the bacon was so overcooked and hard, that it was inedible, the scrambled eggs were dry and hard.

I have nothing positive to say about Sorrento's. A friendly/happy welcome and good food are a must for a café, especially in somewhere like Coolum that has so many better options. I would...

The price listed for the big breakfast was $24 x 10% surcharge. I also ordered 2x reg coffees, an apple juice box , 1 toast with egg, and raising toast coasting $76. So that means it was $39 dollars for 2 servings of toast and 1 egg , + 1 coffee and an apple juice box. When I asked for the itemised receipt the old lady owner wouldn't provide a receipt and said if I wanted one, I needed to write it up myself while eating breakfast. I have to hand her the the receipt I wrote myself to her to get an actual receipt. Ridiculous. Avoid this place. She will rob you blind.

Very disgusting attitude and definitely over charged. Even if it's new years day, not sure if she is a racist or what. Verified - she overcharged two other customers sitting next to me 20% instead of 10% and overcharged on each item on the menu , making up the prices as she went. So not a racist , just a crook. She then took the hand written receipt and refused to hand it back adding extra dollars on each item to make sure it added up to her made up total, then added an extra leverage at the end...

Should have read the reviews before eating here. Because we certainly would have gone elsewhere now knowing other customers ended up with food poisoning. While waiting to be served, a lady return her breakfast as it was stone cold. Should have known then that eating here was a bad idea. My husband and I just had the big breakfast which was really disappointing. It consisted of two eggs, bacon too much greasy toast and sausage with a slither of soggy tomato. No mushrooms, no spinach, no baked beans. Should not be called a big breakfast and should not be charged $20. Too make matters worse, our freshly squeeze orange jucie we ordered didnt turn up.
