The Stockland coffee club has gone down so badly in the last 12 or so months especially. My mum, dad and I have dined there for 25 years. We will not be returning. We’ll possibly cancel our VIP memberships too. The staff look so unclean, are rude and don’t care about customer service whatsoever. We are very tired of something being wrong every time we try again. It was the last straw the other day, when I checked my receipt (I always get one now because of all the mess ups) and even though I used my membership, my points deducted but no discount. When asking about it, I was left waiting until the “manager” came over and finally (after much deliberation) gave me the $4.90 I was owed and left, smiling, saying “enjoy Mooloolaba” (I had mentioned how Kawana and Maroochydore stores were a lot better). Meanwhile, one of the other girls making coffees remarked that I was rude. Rude for enquiring about my member discount?? I went over to the “manager”, who had gone back to sitting down with head phones on at another table, and told her what the girl said. It made no difference. We had lunch at the Coffee Club , Stockland , Caloundra, which we do often when visiting the coast from the Hinterland. We ordered an Eggs Benedict and a Sweet Potato and Chicken Salad which included Feta Cheese and a Lemon Pepper Calamari as an extra and two Hot Belgian Chocolate drinks to be served with the meal or preferably after the meal. The bill was more than expected and when we challenged the amount it turned out we were charged for an Asian Calamari Salad meal instead of the Calamari as an extra. A refund was duly made. The hot drinks arrived before the meal instead of with or after the meal as requested. When the Sweet Potato and Chicken Salad was served it was lacking the Feta Cheese which was corrected after pointing it out to the waiter. The meals were excellent, but the experience was spoiled by a) being overcharged, b) having the hot drinks served early and c) lack of attention to preparing the main dish leaving out an essential ingredient. As a dine-in customer, I was disappointed to have my drink served in a plastic up with a plastic straw; and to see take-away customers have their meals served in styrofoam containers with plastic cutlery. Not a shred of environmental responsibility.
More concerning was the number of tables spaced in a way that many patrons were within 1.5M from others, particularly with a majority of diners being retirement age. It’s as if the pandemic doesn’t exist. I ate here a few months ago and they had great controls in place. What...
