At 13:36 today I placed an order for food to takeaway. Firstly I have to say the service was sub par, the team members were loitering and talking to each other loudly and inappropriately when they can be over heard by customers instead of working together to reduce the food wait times.
Secondly and most disgustingly I was observing the actions a young lady working the counter and on the pass, she touched so many surfaces including the till, the pass, the counters, her face multiple times and her hair, her mouth, more surfaces and then with her filthy bare hands grabbed a big handful of frozen chips out of the bag through then in the fryer then handled the basket and continued to touch other good items and proceeded to handle my food and pass it too me.
I passed on direct feedback to this individual as I was absolutely appalled and to be frankly disgusted not only by her actions but by her lack of care and poor attitude. As if it’s some kind of joke.
Additionally I was observing the actions of your other kitchen staff and saw countless cross contamination issues, no changing of gloves, handling cooked food then handling bottles and other equipment then going back to handling food.
This store by the looks of it and other comments is very poorly managed and none of the staff clearly care or take pride in any of there work and clearly need some serious retraining regarding food handling and safety.
I called the store and spoke to Adi to provide my feedback and he advised he would pass this on to the manager whom I had asked to speak to but was advised not in store.
Now I should tell you that I am a qualified chef and have run multiple kitchens, so I know what I’m talking about.
You guys better pull your socks up and give your staff a serious talking too and or warnings for this kind of slovenly approach to food preparation.

Read moreWorst GYG ever, I am usually a big friend of the GYG Restaurants but the experience I had in the new Caloundra branch was something special in a bad way. We arrived after school pick up for a Friday afternoon treat and where hoping to enjoy freshly yummy tasty food as we did so often already in other GYG branches. When we got out of the car very loud music filled the car park, fist I though they have speakers installed in the car park ...they haven't, it came from inside the restaurant, as we entered the music was so loud it pierced our ears( surly it was a technical problem I thought, how wrong I was). They young staff behind the counter seemed to have a party going on and enjoying the pre-weekend clubbing, the handful of 13y old guest didn't seem to mind it as they where sharing their chips by 5. My children had to shout their order so I could pass it on to the young girl behind the counter when she realized that I was not to happy jelling my order the music was turned down a little. Still much to loud but ok, as we sat down and waited for our food to come the music was turned up again, that loud that I am sure health and safety would have a problem with it , I asked the one of the ladies who brought our food if it would be possible to turn the music a little bit down , she did and 30 sec later it was turned up again that loud that my children asked if we could leave, it was so loud we had to shout at each other sitting next to each other, at work it would require ear protection. Read moreI quite honestly never write reviews, because my experiences at food outlets don’t usually phase me enough. But this store (drive through & delivery specially) has gotten my orders wrong at least 10 times this year, and I eat from there maybe once a fortnight. I absolutely understand a small mistake from time to time but every other time I order is just unreal! Usually in a rush to get home, I often forget to check the bag when I‘m leaving, under the assumption I shouldn’t need to worry about the whether or not my order is correct. Once I get home, (from where I won’t be driving back to the store to have my order fixed and let the rest of my food go cold) I realise there are either missing ingredients I’ve added and paid for, or entirely missing items. On multiple occasions I’ve received a burrito with chicken and pork (I’m vegetarian and only ever order the shredded mushroom filling) and can’t eat it at all. For delivery, it’s the exact same situation but at least they help you find a solution. Every time I try to call the phone says nobody is available to take your call and sends you to voicemail from where nobody calls you back. I’ll sign off with my experience from tonight, drove in with 4 cars in front of me which had all already ordered, grabbed a mini shredded mushroom burrito and queso fries with extra queso.
