An employee name of Debbie urgently needs retraining in customer service and Covid proactive policies. This staff member is impolite, abrupt and dismissive of any request made to her. The gaming room is always untidy if she is on duty and seems to be only cleared of glasses etc at the end of a shift. In regards to Covid policies. I had an a recent incident in the gaming room in regards to another customer refusing to socially distance when I get requested. I approached the bar where Debbie was engaged in a conversation with another staff member. She looked at me then continued her conversation which was not work-related, after a time she again looked at me and said "Do you want something? ". I replied yes after she concluded her conversation I informed her of what had occurred and asked if she could explain the situation to the other customer. Debbie has approached this person who she knew by name and sat beside him and whatever she said to him has resulted in both of them turning to face my direction and laugh. Obviously directed towards me. Overall I do not enjoy patronising the Tavern when she is "on duty". Can something also be done about the state of the female toilets? Two of the three cubicles require maintenance. First cubicle has had a cracked toilet seat held on with sticky tape for months. Third cubicle has a broken courtesy lock and door can not be shut. I must state my observations of the staff member have been noted for years. I now will not tolerate her abrasiveness, quietly as I have done...
Read moreCame to this place one night on our honeymoon looking for a decent pub meal. My wife ordered a prawn aglio E olio pasta dish which was hotter on the tongue than the sun itself but there was no warning on the menu about the level of spice that the dish had. I ordered the nachos special that they had at the time, as I was eating it something tasted off and although that was the case I decided to finish the dish as I didn’t want to leave 2 full plates of food on the table when we left (as my wife couldn’t bear the spice of the other dish so didn’t eat it). I couldn’t sleep all night as I had a sore stomach and at midnight had a case of diarrhoea. When morning broke I realised that I had a definite case of food poisoning as everything within me began to eject itself out every hole connected to the digestive track. Took half a day to clean my body out but after that I was fine. What a way to spend a day of your honeymoon I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff were friendly but the food...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusted with the service and the staff. Me and my partner came with our 18 month old little boy for dinner, who of course was hungry and getting towards being tired, and he was struggling to manage these emotions when waiting for food. We had one of the staff members come over to our table.. whilst we was trying to deal with our baby.. and said "this needs to stop. We have others trying to have their dinner and you can't let this happen, this crying needs to stop". I am so livid that this lady then walked away, there was no sincerity or empathy that we are doing our best but we cannot and I will NEVER stop my baby from crying. The food that came was not OK anyway, steak was chewy and it was cold. I thought this was a child friendly place to come and have some dinner, but I was so very wrong and I can't emphasise how utterly outraged I am at this rude and...
