We didn't have a good experience at all. Its hard to tell if it was just because it was fathers day but still no excuse. It started with being taken to our table and told "there's your table". It was our first time, and we didn't know if it was table service, we didnt get any menus, we didnt get offered any drinks or told where to order them. The good old code to scan was on the table but due to severe allergies (on the booking) that's definitely not an option. I began my search for some menus firstly, secured some off the bar and then we sat for a while and realised it wasnt table service. So went up to the bar and asked where we order, and got directed to the long line accross the other side. Line up (fair enough its fathers day) And have to talk to them because I have multiple severe allergies- dairy, soy, egg. Which was put on the booking. The server was clearly being stressed by the long line behind me and the fact it was taking so long for me to order. But what am I supposed to do? She continually had to go back to the kitchen to try and find something I could have which I felt sorry for her as she was so flustered but I appreciate her effort. (Again though it was on the booking and nearly every place I have ever eaten at has been prepared for this or if they really have nothing or only 1 or 2 options have rung and told me beforehand). We ended up landing on chips, broccoli, lamb and no sauce, no gravy at all. Was quite hard to swollow due to the dryness and lacked flavour or salt. Overall it was extremely dissapointing. The service was awful and my food was hard to eat. I appreciate that my allergies can be hard to accommodate hence why I do place it on the booking but nearly every place I go can still come up with a nice meal. In future if its not table service then you should let the customer know and if somebody has allergies- come talk to the customer at the table + be prepared with some options for the customer rather then stress out your bar staff. I basically never leave 1 star reviews so this was really hard for me to write. I normally try and focus on the positive but...
Read moreWe went here on 27/12/23 and lets just say we were more than disappointed.
Firstly let me preface what I'm about to write by saying, I know that it is a busy time of year and the restaurant was full, but it doesn't really excuse what we got.
Upon arrival it says to wait to be seated. No one was on the front desk and no one came for at least 5 mins so we found our table ourselves. As we seated ourselves, we had no menus. Went to find some and was told that they couldn't find any so just use the QR Code and App to peruse the menu. Not very easy to do, but ok. Went back to the table and a waiter came and gave us 1 menu. For a table of 6.
When ordering, the app said there was a 20 min wait on entrees and 40 mins on mains. Fair enough, they're full and they're busy, we happily accepted that. Ordered some drinks to keep us going until the food arrived, they were nice, albeit very pricey. Unfortunately the jug of water we got for the table had the previous drink's dregs still stuck to the bottom of the inside of the jug and we didn't notice this until we'd drunk half of it. A little disgusting to say the least. Ordered our meals at 1:20pm and there were 2 orders via the app on our table. 3 of 4 entrees came out after about 30 mins, my wings took another 15 to arrive and were lukewarm at best. We then waited another 1.5 hours for the mains to arrive. We asked multiple waiters for an update on the whereabouts of our mains and were told they would check and let us know. They never returned. When we did get our mains, 1 was so hot it couldn't be eaten straight away (kinda like it has been microwaved) but the 3 burgers were barely warm at all.
Apart from the above, the other thing that really bothered me was the wait staff. Didn't see one waiter with a smile on their face, no friendly greetings and no apologies for the time it took to get our meals.
I'll finish by saying that for somewhere to go for a beer and maybe watch some sport, then it'll do, but if you want to...
Read moreLunched at Savvy Squire today, unfortunately not a great experience. First of all they couldn't find our reservation, once established that we had booked a table outdoors as we had a dog, we were seated. Ordered our food and drinks from the QR code. Service was very slow, with drinks and food all arriving at different times. Food was ordinary - chicken wings looked delicious but lacked seasoning. Steak sandwich - the meat was overcooked and looked like it had been left sitting a while. Some had finished food by the time the rest of the meals arrived. Ordered a second drink through the QR code, 20 minutes after ordering went to the bar to check out where it was as it hadn't arrived. The place was not busy at all. I went in to ask about our drinks and found them drinks sitting on the bar, warm wine by now. The bartender just told me to take them - yeah I was gong to as I had paid for these 20 minutes eariler - not really impressed. What is really disappointing is when you order through QR code you are asked to for a tip before any service is given - why tip when you hadn't received any service, food or drinks? The staff either don't care, have had little training in customer service or the placed was understaffed. For a place that has had some great reviews (and some bad ones) we thought we would give it a go, but won't ben returning as the service was bad. Took a very long time for our plates to be cleared, still not cleared when we decided to leave, easily 30-40 minutes after we had finished our meal. Sorry you won't be getting our...
