More Korean than Japanese, which is fine but it would've been nice to know that before stepping in (sign says Daijobu Japanese BBQ) - expectations and all. That aside, lunch service was incredibly slow even though there were only 3 people in the restaurant at the time of ordering food (2 of us and 1 other who was already finishing up his meal). Very limited lunch BBQ menu; food so very average. The epitome of mediocre. Sad. Not worth the money and belly space. If you want authentic (and phenomenal) Japanese BBQ, I'd highly recommend Yakiniku Yokocho in the city. Not this place. The fried chicken from Diajobu is the BEST around! My husband and I love Korean fried chicken so when this place opened up so close to us we were so keen to try it and it exceeded our expectations! This was our go to pick-me-up take out meal during Covid, and has continued to be a favourite since! We love the soy garlic fried chicken with bone in, but have tried a few other flavours and boneless, and all are great! Great place. Service was good and quick and tables well spaced and place was comfy with plenty of room. Food was really good. We decided to just pick of the menu instead of the traditional set meals. Tried almost all the meats and all were good quality cuts. We tried several different sides also and was happy with all. The garlic rice is a must try. The menu could do with some more items like seafood. Located just outside of Ashfield mall in the forecourt so plenty of parking downstairs.
