This has to be one of the worst shopping malls ever. 1} The escalators are continually broken and when they fix them its only temporary for a few months until they break down again. Obviously using cheap and nasty products that easily break down after a few months! 2} Where is there any hardware store for men as we have to walk all the way to Bunning’s mostly this mall is full of ladies clothes because the centre management who took over are mainly women. 3} Woolworths is a complete joke as they never prosecute shoplifters who are often seen being chased by security guards and asked to return stock and then let the perpetrator go straight after they take the goods. It’s a haven for thieves. 4} Too many chemist shops because people can’t breathe from lack of green space ie no parks in Ashfield and what little trees we did have were cut down to make way for ‘paved paradise’ and the seats outside the council/library are the worst for comfort and just there for show so at least the mall has better seats than that outside. 5} They could provide some seats for smokers outside or ban smoking altogether since some of them sit on pot plants and other areas near post office since there’s no where for them to go and it’s not designated a non smoking area. 6} Where is any cinema? We have enough residents now since Ashfield has so many high-rises now that the council have given up saving heritage homes and masses of people are swarming the streets with the already polluted over crowded vehicles rushing by the highway that has those irritating safety rails because some idiots didn’t look left and right and now everyone has to be a sheep and walk up the roads to traffic lights. 7} What happened to the nice Italian restaurant downstairs now it’s just that horrible fast food court with the sushi bar that has the roughest fish that taste like cardboard. 8} Too many chemist shops because no one can breathe in Ashfield anymore from the ever increasing crowded residential population, not to mention that the Chinese vitamin packing companies that are dotted all over Ashfield are undercutting Mr Vitamins and chemist warehouse by 50% because it seems they don’t pay hardly any tax. However the chemist shops tell me that those Asian stores buy their products in bulk where there’s a big sale on then market it as their own in which case why are the chemists allowing this not to mention centre management and for that matter the government wasn’t there a current affair show about this? Why are the chemist shops way over priced ie $150 for Manuka honey, is that fair? 9} And let’s not talk about Coles meat which has been rancid on a few occasions and I’ve checked up and Coles has had this problem in other stores too so I don’t know why they cant get their meat locally instead of sitting in trucks for a few days being transported across states. At least the grocery shops in the mall have prices on them unlike the Asian supermarkets outside in Ashfield that undercut them with a lot of goods with unmarked prices; however it seems the mark-up in the malls stores, because of the presentation is too high for...

Read moreI go often but not like before to Ashfield. Shopping centre I am familiar with: Coles , ALDI & Woolworths which has become huge after a big renovation. I am no longer agile to wonder around in Woolworths because of my back, knee & vision impairment problem. The ticket of the prices is now sofisticated, no longer could be seen easily or clear like before. At night it changes colour: technology has changed our lives & no longer older people can cope with it. We live day by day to see the human contact is disappearing. This store of Woolworths update, renovate is done by raising the prices of the products to the point that we leave the store almost empty handed. Coles imitates Woolworth but a bit better. No longer there is competition between the 2 stores. They are like monkey one raise the jam product for example, the other follows. This is due to the technology, through which they can see what the other one is doing. Government promises to help but does absolutely nothing. All talks, talks about the cost of living & how we struggleto live. Young people do not strike like years ago about the cost of living because their eyes are set in their mobiles & cannot see in front of them in the transport, on the street, in the shopping Centre.... This is what the internet, etc...has done in our lives in spite of its positive...
