AB Hotel, — Restaurant in Sydney

Totally disappointed in my last visit there especially after bragging about their laksas & how good they are for value. I'm sure the bowls are smaller than they used to be but it was about 2cms less than normal anyway. Seafood content was waaaaay less than normal - 4 prawns, 1 baby octopus (cut in half), 2 pieces of squid & 1 scallop. Went to use a discount voucher that I had got from using the in-house ATM on a previous visit only to be told that they don't honour them any more - fair enough, but when I used the machine again that night it still printed out the discount voucher. Worse still - when I got home, about half an hour later what I had eaten went straight through me & my friend who had eaten 2 of the prawns mentioned to me later the next day that he had stomach rumbles all during the night. Hope it improves other wise I wont be back...

This delightful little pub sequestered in charming Glebe was the highlight of my afternoon! The leafy bistro area was a welcome surprise following my initial impression of the tired exterior.

Following a staff recommendation, I settled on the fish tacos, and I was not disappointed! The deliciously zingy sauce cut through the buttery flavour of the fried fish, with the side of fries faultless in their pub style preparation.

This massive pub is set over 4 levels (or is it more!) on the busy corner of Glebe Point Road & Pyrmont Bridge Hotel. The food is ok, nothing I haven't had before or would be able to get elsewhere for cheaper. The prices are too high for a pub bistro and its disappointing when it gets served which is a shame because so many pubs and bistros take the time to make it taste and look good. There is a huge selection of wines, beers and spirits on offer, plenty of seating, pool tables, outdoor area, tab and pokies of course. Unfortunately I think it is too "RSL" and not "Pub"...
