Edit - I've just noticed on their booking dot com page under 'Helpful to Know' tab (along the top) then under 'Questions' that they state they offer a free shuttle to the airport at the cessation of stay (but not pickup). Julie knew that I was heading to the airport after my 5 night stay and never offered it as she herself waved me goodbye at the front desk when I checked out!
Based on my own experiences of a 5 night stay there are probably a few things it could be helpful to know. First of all, from reviews on the website of the booking company I went through, some rooms don't have their own, but rather centrally controlled air con and the reviewing guests were unhappy with the temperature (one review said they got none at all!) and the fact they couldn't control it. I was very fortunate to have my own split system air conditioner I realize now. Being in a room with no window looking outside (which I was fine with) would have felt like being in a prison cell with no control over the air con. So this could happen to you. Upon arriving (at ten minutes past midnight on Christmas morning) I was told I'd have to pay a $100 'security deposit' on my credit card. There was no indication of this on the booking website. It was just sprung on me. I was also told it would take 5 - 7 days to get back after checkout. I also had an A4 page of a fine print agreement given to me to sign. I was just so exhausted after my delayed flight I signed it without reading it, but it certainly made check-in feel like a mountain to climb. Check-in was therefore not seamless, with lots of additional surprises. The continental breakfast looked very basic, self- serve from a breakfast bar. I recommend if you do book here, don't take a breakfast included option as you can pay the $15 separately if you want it after seeing it. There are no hot options and all that I could see were a couple of varieties of juice, two types of cereal, jugs of milk and bread/ English muffins out the packet. To save money they skimp on air conditioning in the reception area and it was hot and muggy weather and there is also no air conditioning throughout the building as you walk to your room. It's also obvious they don't engage a professional laundry for sheets and towels and skimp on detergent. So be prepared for stains on towels, I certainly saw some! One of my towels even smelt like sweat/ male deodorant. I don't think it was a used towel, but a result of poor washing methods. There is an elderly lady on site who I assume is the manager if not the actual owner and she is there ALL the time. She greets you on coming and going with the obvious expectation you'll respond to her and I spent a lot of time in my room just to avoid her. I even felt I had to justify sitting in the reception area to wait for an Uber eats order. She is highly defensive if you ask any reasonable question about the hotel or its process eg security deposit. Personally I wouldn't stay again. When I asked to see the fine print A4 sheet of paper I'd had to sign to get to my room during the stay I did notice that if you didn't have a credit card you'd have to pay a...
Read moreAn absolute nightmare!!! After I booked the room, I tried calling the hotel several times with no answer & no way to leave a message. So I emailed the hotel to advise that we would be checking in late due to our flight arrival time & if there were any issues to call me. I received no reply. Then our flight was delayed by several hours, so I tried calling the hotel again that afternoon & actually had someone answer. I advised that we wouldn't arrive until around midnight now & asked if that would be an issue. I was informed that they had a 24hour reception & just to call their number & we would be given the details to access our room. Upon arrival, in the rain with my husband on crutches, we called the number & were told someone would be out to check us in. 1.5 hours later, 3 phone calls & still no one to be seen. So we called again only to be on hold for ages & then once answered be told that no one at the property was answering & they didn't know what to do except keep trying. But there was no way for us to access our rooms. So at nearly 2am in the morning I was trying to find a 24 hour hotel that had a room available, which was difficult as it worked out there was some music festival on & most places were booked out. This was utterly unbelievable service for what I was sold as an Accor hotel & I am a Gold Accor member. To add insult to injury they then charged us for the room we never got access too. And I've now had to chase them to try &...
Read moreI honestly don’t understand how this property can call itself 4 stars. The experience was very disappointing, and I would not recommend it. Reception. Staff are only available until 9 pm. For a so called 4 star hotel, this is unacceptable. Even hostels and budget 3 star hotels usually have 24 hour reception. Room. Very plain and unimpressive. The water pressure in both the shower and sink was poor. Nothing about the room felt like a higher standard. On top of that, I stayed two nights and the room was not cleaned or serviced on the second day. That is not 4-star standard. Noise. Walls are thin, and I could hear other guests talking and moving around. This is far from the comfort and privacy expected in a 4 star stay. Service. I tried calling reception at 8:30 pm using the in room phone. It rang, but nobody answered. Either the phone doesn’t work, or staff just ignore it. In the end, I had to go down myself to ask a simple question. Air Conditioning. There was no remote or individual control in the room. When I asked, I was told it’s a central system, adjusted based on “what other guests feel.” This is a major flaw. Different guests have different comfort levels, and forcing everyone into one temperature setting is not acceptable. My room was hot, but I was told nothing could be done.
Overall, this hotel fails on the basics of comfort, service, and facilities. Based on my experience, it does not deserve 4 stars,...
