Today (Christmas Day) I ordered delivery from Fish on Fire and I was very impressed with the food and the speed of delivery.
The tempura prawns, calamari and barramundi were delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The thick cut style chips were some of the best I've tasted. I particularly liked that the chips weren't bathed in salt as I prefer to add my own salt, if needed. The delivery was quick and the driver had no problems following my instructions and he was lovely driver.
There were a couple of minor issues though and I'm only mentioning them so hopefully they'll avoid them in the future.
I ordered salt and pepper squid but I received calamari. It was delicious and tender but not what I ordered but possibly they were out of salt and pepper squid and today being Christmas day, that's perfectly understandable.
The other issue was the salad with the Barramundi. I ordered coleslaw and I received a garden salad. I specifically ordered coleslaw because I don't like vinegar or vinaigrette dressing and garden salad usually has one or the other. Sadly i missed out on a salad but it's not a big deal.
Apart from these 2 minor issues, I am very happy with the food and I would order from Fish on Fire...

This is thanks to the new owner who just took over the reins with immediate impact. I had stopped turning up here under the previous owners due to quality and service issues. Service is better than ever, owner actually communicates and sets expectations. This is great because this has long term local customers so it's nice to keep some continuity, with any big menu overhauls yet to happen but likely to keep parts of the previous menu. Read moreI appreciate poor customer service in this country, really do. I don’t expect people to grovel or act like servants. That would be awkward & revolting. When the owner of the business is standing out the back cleaning, you have to shout for attention & their unwilling to answer questions; different story. I wanted something quick & cheap; was treated like I was doing them a service rather then vice versa.
Food generally good; aside from chips & Calamari (oddly worst calamari in Sydney when all other seafood here pretty good) Which was final insult; got home with take away order, calamari instead of fish. Plus no taftatr sauce which I’d specifically asked & paid for.
