This Thai place used to be good when it first opened years ago. Steadily the quality of food and customer service has deteriorated to sub par level. They are so busy they think they can serve you dishes with low quality ingredients, get your order wrong, and treat you in any way they want because they feel they can. Well if you feel you want to be treated as a normal customer and not the restaurant feeling as if it can do whatever it wants please do not go here. The taste is the usual Thai taste but what they bank on is a “cheap” lunchtime special price with a large customer turnaround. But when you get two pieces of broccoli one of which is yellow with a bit of capsicum and onions in your dish you can see why it is “cheap”.

You will definitely get what you pay for. Rude staff with no smile, manners, or sense of customer service. Mediocre Thai food with not so fresh ingredients. Cramped dining spaces with high level of noise. The staff making it clear they want you to finish your meal quickly so they can get the next lot of people in. And when you exit, you will leave smelling like the kitchen cooking smells. My last visit to this place.

Let’s show this Thai restaurant who’s the real boss when it comes to spending our time and money at a restaurant. If you’re after cheap food and everything else nasty give...

Quite possibly the best Thai food I have ever had - including that experienced in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

I normally don't like noise and crowds but just being in Tom Yum Tum Gang on Glebe Point Road is to experience a great atmosphere - the tables are always full and there are more groups waiting to get a seat.

Excellent service is given by a large number of young ladies who are attentive to your every need, from topping up your glass of water to bringing a clean plate between courses - all done without the need to signal them.

Service is quick and efficient and the meals are produced without delay even with the place chock full of diners and take-aways coming and going constantly and the quality cannot be questioned. The meals are very reasonably priced and great value for money. The size of the serve is better than most and we left feeling very satisfied.

My only complaint is that they are not in Brisbane and I would recommend that you should take the time to visit Tom Yum Tum Gang while in Sydney - it is worth the cost of...

The food is undeniably tasty, with authentic Thai flavours and reasonable prices that make it a popular choice. However, for those with nut allergies, caution is strongly advised. Despite reminding the staff multiple times during the ordering process and clear labelling on the containers, our Pad Thai came with a generous amount of peanuts, and the salad included cashews.

We also experienced a mix-up with our order, receiving Pad Thai beef instead of the Thai beef dish we requested. Communication with the staff was somewhat challenging, which added to the confusion.

While the food itself was enjoyable, it was difficult for those with allergies in our group to safely enjoy the meal. If you have any dietary restrictions, I’d recommend double-checking your order thoroughly and considering other options if nut allergies are a concern.

Overall, it’s a good spot for authentic Thai food, but clearer communication and greater attention to allergy concerns would make it...

Entree: spring rolls (large portion, crispy, oily-juicy, generously filled), recommend with sauce. Chicken wing (massive portion, crispy skinned with tender and juiciness, tasty). My friend highly recommends! Mains: Pad Thai- average and decent. Most happy with the large portion size. Fried rice - the first time I ordered this, two-thirds of the rice was on the brink of burnt rice/hard however it came to my attention quickly that this isn't how it's supposed to have been presented. Despite the almost coal-like after-taste, the flavour and vegetables are a positive (also came with pineapple!) Tom yum soup- my friend noted it was delicious and authentic. Just what you need on a cold soupy day. Pricing was very kind to the wallet, one of the older ladies at the counter was so kind to provide us with my friends favourite grape-flavoured Thai candy. Amusing and nice staff. Will recommend.

Cheap, tasty Thai, been here twice recently, they even do $10 lunch, only cash!, there is always a queue but it moves quickly so don't let it put you off, it's a place to eat and go but you can BYO and enjoy, they don't hurry you along. I just buy a beer or two from the AB hotel 30 metres from there and they also have 2 ATMs. I loved their jungle curry, pad see ewe, stir fry with Thai herbs. They use fresh herbs. Staff are very friendly....almost 15 of them work in evening. This place is a favourite of locals. A meal for two with a long neck from next door can be under $50! Price is not everything but seeing their efficient machine and locals is a delight.
