Terrible place to eat here. We booked on their website but they don’t even check it but fortunately they had spare seats. The staff are not that great as they do not notice us when we put our hands up to order. We also asked for water and we ended up getting it for ourselves. I got spoons by myself because I knew they wouldn’t even come. I feel like that this place is slightly under-staffed because the waiters are walking around quickly and not noticing things such as cleaning tables. The wait for very long, 30 minutes just for miso soup that is just made with hot water and powder to come out! And 40 minutes for edamame beans that only need to cook in hot water! That is absurd! The food I’ve noticed that we at were actually mostly all frozen foods. The takoyaki, miso soup, edamame beans, gyozas, mackerel and udon were clearly frozen foods that I’ve tasted before and most likely bought from a Korean supermarket. The food pricing is also incredibly expensive for frozen food and the portions are tiny. $25 for udon is a complete scam! They also try to make their food look ‘fancy’ which looks completely stupid. I am not recommending people going here because their staff are terrible and the food is overpriced and frozen, plus the wait time is...
Read moreThe restaurant was very quiet and the only person working/ serving was the chef. I'm sure this is because they didn't have a lot of customers and, obviously, the pandemic. However, the food was excellent and the service was gracious and timely. We had edamame, salmon sashimi, a sample plate with a soft shell crab taco, octopus ball, crab claw, and salmon with wasabi cream cheese. We also had some wagyu which was served very fresh and hot, with complimentary rice.
The only drawbacks were that due to only a few patrons, they had obviously only planned on serving a limited amount of sushi. So, when we asked for it, we were told it was sold out. Understandable 🤷♀️ The prices were probably a bit steep, but I can see how they're aiming for "fine dining" Japanese and are therefore priced similarly. Last, the menu did seem a bit confused. But once again, I think this had to do with their aim to be more upscale as opposed to just a neighbourhood sushi restaurant.
Overall, the food was beautiful and service was good. I would definitely eat there again, with the understanding that I'd be paying more than average but for a nicer...
Read moreDisappointing I feel bad writing this review but I think it needs to be said. I do think this restaurant is in trouble. A lot of reviews comment on only 1 server and this was the case for us as well but the restaurant wasn’t busy, so this wasn’t an issue. As we were leaving there was a table near the exit and it was lined with dirty dishes, which looked terrible. The restaurant food is priced upmarket, but definitely not to that standard. Our bill was well over $100, so I expect good quality food …. Ordered a glass of Red wine…. It tasted like the bottle was opened for over a week Tempura zucchini flowers… tasteless Salmon sashimi …… Perfect and fresh Grilled Salmon….. So many bones, every mouth full had at least 5 bones. Picking them out of your mouth wasn't a good look Share platter, we ordered 2 ….. Crab claw…. Frozen type Octopus ball…. Frozen type Salmon on a cracker…… tasted like salmon on a cracker. Soft-shell crab taco… cold and horrible ( I couldn’t eat it) If this restaurant is in trouble, I feel for them but I also work hard for my money and I...
