There’s nothing better than trying a place you never tried before and get an absolutely amazing order. First off, I ordered through Ubereats, which automatically almost always diminishes the quality of any food, and I was aware of this- but it still tasted good. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve ordered brunch or brekkie items to be delivered and it’s just been a complete wreck. Everything was packed well, no soggy boxes, no plastic containers (great for the environment!), even the coffees were packed well. Sticky tape over the drink hole and steam hole (did leak a tiny bit, but that’s okay) iced latte was wrapped tightly! Ordered a mocha that they use BELGIAN chocolate for and as a mocha lover, this was a big bonus for me. Chocolate sauce or chocolate powder just ruins the coffee taste in a mocha. Overall, Mocha was lovely with the chocolate and it compliments the espresso well!
Ordered a Smoked salmon and egg baguette and the pork baguette. The BREAD! Crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside- perfect! The EGG! Dear lord, you have no idea how many times I have had an overcooked, unseasoned scrambled egg/omelette. Australia has fantastic eggs and people just do it dirty sometimes. The egg was FLUFFY, SOFT, GOOEY, BUTTERY, AND WELL SEASONED!!!! Beautiful baguettes all around as well. Pork baguette- pork was seasoned well, crunchy, and jam packed in there with salad!
Carrot cake that I ordered was beautiful as well.
Highly recommend this place!! One day I’ll...

I love the atmosphere of this cafe. The rustic bakery feel with masses of delicious looking food on offer is very appealing. In fact I am glad I don't review food as I am sure I'd have to sit here quite a bit longer, as the content of their cake display is looking at me.
By when it comes to coffee, this was always going to be a hard place to review, with one of my favourites right across the road, Mecca. So when I came in and saw a "single origin of the week" sign I was excited, until I asked where they source there coffee. "Toby's" never really does much for me these days, but trying to keep an open mind I ordered an espresso anyway.
Compared to the normally burnt and over roasted Toby's blend, this espresso looked great, but for a single origin (this one a Peruvian Fairtrade) it had no discernible aroma or flavour. It tasted like a nicely espressed, well presented, dull, stale flat coffee. I would still rate it above anything offered by the more industrial brands, but it didn't really stand up and say hi.
So while if it is a coffee experience you are after I would still suggest you go across the road, if you are hungry, this place is certainly one you should check out.
N.B. There is #powerwhoring available inside under the baguette menu near the big table. No public WiFi...
Read moreUnfortunately, I'm now having to edit my 5 star review and make it 1 star for 1 reason and 1 reason only. Here's the story that I never thought I'd ever have to tell about ANY cafe. I went to the bathroom before our food arrived. When I wanted to come out, I realised that I couldn't open the door. I tried the top and the bottom handles, the top from memory was one that you had to twist, the bottom just a regular handle. The bathroom was VERY small. I don't and didn't have claustrophobia, luckily otherwise things would've been much, much worse. However, I do have anxiety, again luckily not severe. I was stuck in that 'bathroom' for 5 minutes screaming and shouting at the top of my voice. Until, one staff member came and helped me open the door which took some time. I am however grateful that I recieved an appropriate apology and the girl said she'll check the door as what I experienced shouldn't be happening. I won't be visiting again and that isn't an...
