I had one of the best dining experiences of my life at Ahgora in Glebe. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect.
We started with tzatziki and warm pita bread, which was so fresh and flavorful. The grilled haloumi with lemon marmalade was heavenly â the perfect balance of salty and sweet. The prawns with corn purĂŠe were cooked to perfection, juicy and beautifully seasoned. The octopus with lentils and salad was tender and full of depth, and the feta ravioli with lemon marmalade and walnuts was truly unique and unforgettable â rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. To finish, the chocolate lava cake with fresh fruit and sorbet was the ultimate indulgence â warm, gooey, and perfectly paired with the tart freshness of the fruit.
The atmosphere at Ahgora is warm and inviting, with beautiful interiors that make the experience even more special. The service was attentive, friendly, and professional â they really made us feel welcome.
But above all, the food is simply TOP, TOP, TOP. Every single dish was a masterpiece, and I can honestly say this was some of the best food I have ever eaten.
If youâre in Sydney and love Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, Ahgora is an absolute must-visit. I canât...
Read moreHaving read a number of positive reviews for Ahgora, I can only assume that our very negative experience of this place last Sunday evening related to unusual circumstances. The website mentions âaward-winning chefsâ, but none were evident--perhaps they donât work Sundays or were ill. Certainly, I canât imagine charging for the food like this (and the prices were outrageously high, given the low quality) or serving it to guests. Iâve had better taramasalata from my local supermarket. The small quantity of charred octopus ($30!) had been âcharredâ hours or days before, and the dried-out result was lightly reheated and served on a cold mush of white sauce in a cold dessert plate. The modest-sized beef brisket moussakaâŻ($36!) had very little meat, no taste at all, and no evidence of fresh herbs like oregano--despite the small serving, we couldnât bring ourselves to finish it. I assume it was straight out of the freezer and again, my local supermarket has better moussaka in their freezer section. In these Covid times, I hate to be so critical of a restaurant but, given the high charges at Ahgora, if they canât serve better food than this on a Sunday evening, Iâd recommend they all take the...

From the moment we walked in, the service at Ahgora Glebe was warm, genuine and effortlessly professional. The whole venue has a magical, welcoming atmosphere â the kind of place you instantly want to linger.
We chose the Chefâs Menu with a bottle of red, and every course was a delight. The standout was the house-smoked salmon carpaccio (ordered extra): silky, delicately smoky and perfectly balanced â a burst of flavour in every bite. Dish after dish landed with confidence and personality, and the wine matched beautifully throughout.
What really set the night apart was the team. They were attentive without hovering, friendly without being overfamiliar, and clearly proud of what they do. Even the owner popped by with a little digestif on the house (strong! đ) â such a thoughtful gesture and, honestly, the perfect finish after so much delicious food.
Iâd recommend Ahgora to anyone who wants to spend time in a beautiful space with amazing food and super-friendly, professional service. Ideal for date night, a special occasion or just treating yourself. We left happy, impressed and already planning our next visit....
