I had one of the best dining experiences of my life at Ahgora in Glebe. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect.

We started with tzatziki and warm pita bread, which was so fresh and flavorful. The grilled haloumi with lemon marmalade was heavenly – the perfect balance of salty and sweet. The prawns with corn purée were cooked to perfection, juicy and beautifully seasoned. The octopus with lentils and salad was tender and full of depth, and the feta ravioli with lemon marmalade and walnuts was truly unique and unforgettable – rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. To finish, the chocolate lava cake with fresh fruit and sorbet was the ultimate indulgence – warm, gooey, and perfectly paired with the tart freshness of the fruit.

The atmosphere at Ahgora is warm and inviting, with beautiful interiors that make the experience even more special. The service was attentive, friendly, and professional – they really made us feel welcome.

But above all, the food is simply TOP, TOP, TOP. Every single dish was a masterpiece, and I can honestly say this was some of the best food I have ever eaten.

If you’re in Sydney and love Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, Ahgora is an absolute must-visit. I can’t...

Having read a number of positive reviews for Ahgora, I can only assume that our very negative experience of this place last Sunday evening related to unusual circumstances. The website mentions ‘award-winning chefs’, but none were evident--perhaps they don’t work Sundays or were ill. Certainly, I can’t imagine charging for the food like this (and the prices were outrageously high, given the low quality) or serving it to guests. I’ve had better taramasalata from my local supermarket. The small quantity of charred octopus ($30!) had been ‘charred’ hours or days before, and the dried-out result was lightly reheated and served on a cold mush of white sauce in a cold dessert plate. The modest-sized beef brisket moussaka ($36!) had very little meat, no taste at all, and no evidence of fresh herbs like oregano--despite the small serving, we couldn’t bring ourselves to finish it. I assume it was straight out of the freezer and again, my local supermarket has better moussaka in their freezer section. In these Covid times, I hate to be so critical of a restaurant but, given the high charges at Ahgora, if they can’t serve better food than this on a Sunday evening, I’d recommend they all take the...

Absolutely outstanding — new favourite in Glebe! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From the moment we walked in, the service at Ahgora Glebe was warm, genuine and effortlessly professional. The whole venue has a magical, welcoming atmosphere — the kind of place you instantly want to linger.

We chose the Chef’s Menu with a bottle of red, and every course was a delight. The standout was the house-smoked salmon carpaccio (ordered extra): silky, delicately smoky and perfectly balanced — a burst of flavour in every bite. Dish after dish landed with confidence and personality, and the wine matched beautifully throughout.

What really set the night apart was the team. They were attentive without hovering, friendly without being overfamiliar, and clearly proud of what they do. Even the owner popped by with a little digestif on the house (strong! 😄) — such a thoughtful gesture and, honestly, the perfect finish after so much delicious food.

I’d recommend Ahgora to anyone who wants to spend time in a beautiful space with amazing food and super-friendly, professional service. Ideal for date night, a special occasion or just treating yourself. We left happy, impressed and already planning our next visit....

Absolutely delicious, mid-week recommendation from a friend who joined us and the two mains and two sides were more than enough between the three of us (though we squeezed in a Salmon fishcake starter and the ladies had "liquid desserts" too). The moussaka my partner picked was surprisingly good, I usually can't stand aubergines but this was very heavy on the brisket and had a wonderful flavor. Speaking of which, the pork belly was exquisitely seasoned, complimenting the flavor of the meat perfectly, not overbearing, just right. Some of the best belly pork I've had in a while (and I cook a great one if I do say so myself). Cauliflower side delicious, roast taties top too. Place itself looks lovely, well styled and loved the subdued lighting (don't let the images fool you, my phone's just good in low light), staff were wonderful, attentive without being over bearing, all in we had a great time, thought it was really well priced; food, atmosphere, service was all better than places we've paid twice as much.

We had such a wonderful evening dining at this hidden gem. We sat outside with the beautiful fairy lights. To eat, we ordered two serves of Pita, one with tzatziki and another with Taramosalata. We shared the halloumi and ricotta ravioli, the Slow roasted Lamb, and the roasted potatoes with garlic sauce. All the food was absolutely incredible and full of flavour. Definitely worth taking yourself out as this is not something you can whip up at home! To drink, I had a lychee martini and a mojito! Both were great, but I can confidently say it was the best lychee martini I have had in a very long time!! Also I think it’s important to note the variety on the menu, super accommodating for vegetarians/vegans and those who are gluten free. Service was just as impressive as the food. Special mention to Yanni who was our server and incredibly friendly and welcoming. We will be back!! Highly recommend!
