Make thoughtful decision when you trying to order the Bistecca. It’s a nice beef. But I have different opinions towards what’s medium cooked. And I made it clear that the place needs to try to warn people it might take longer than 40 mins for medium/well done bistecca.

I wish I knew this before stepping into a pizzeria and telling the staff that I want the steak and waiting while starving and sitting isolated with cold winds alone and being unattended and have no clue I have to wait for an hour to have a bistecca for a late dinner. They are busy, but to be fair it’s not a full house yet at 7.15pm.

In conclusion, unless you are having a full-course dinner, please avoid ordering the bistecca alone and be mindful of the cooking level.

I eat alone, and I only ordered one main. If you are judging, please try not to let me know.

reply to the 'explanation' that the merchant just made:

I am trying to objectively describe on the steak, but you seem more focused on attacking me with things you think didn't happen on customer service.

To address your response: First, you admitted that our understanding of steak doneness differed, and I didn't argue with you. I simply wanted timely updates while waiting for the second steak, so I could make reasonable arrangements instead of waiting alone, hungry and cold.

Second, I found the mashed potatoes too salty. What would be the correct response in this case? Can I not point this out? This wasn't the main issue that ruined my dining experience. Why mention the mashed potatoes when I was commenting on the steak? Or did the potatoes take longer to cook than the steak? If so, why did you only mention the 40-minute wait for the steak when we spoke in person on site?

Third, I made it clear at the time that I wasn't there to critique your customer service. I tried to ignore the lack of warmth. I won't detail the discomfort caused by your staff as it feels too subjective. However, if you need specifics, it was the male host downstairs who mentioned a ten-minute wait, which I found unrealistic but still waited for my first steak. His lack of knowledge about your menu items was concerning too because he seems to not being able to know what is the 'bistecca steak'.

Ultimately, I rated your service and steak one star due to your stubbornness about the steak's doneness, the mishandling of the second steak, and the overall unnecessary wait time. These issues were very disappointing.

Lastly, I twice emphasized that day on my table, to you, that if someone makes a similar order, the minimum you should do is inform them of the wait time and your understanding of medium doneness. Your failure to do this prompted me to share my...

We have been going here for years but I just finished work and went to pick up pizza my husband had ordered while on my way home. I went to the counter to collect, I was not dressed up, I was in my nursing scrubs. I was spoken to so rudely over a miscommunication over our order that they didn’t seem have. I have NEVER been spoken down to like this and so rudely. I was told ‘we don’t have time for this love’ and no resolution was offered. I was so embarrassed and shocked that I left. We have been loyal customers but will never go here again. So disappointing and not the way to treat your customers or speak to people in general, ever.

In response to the message below: As mentioned, and as shown below, again speaking rudely to your customers is unnecessary. I mentioned there was a miscommunication, however my complaint is over the way you spoke down to me and were extremely rude. Just like below, no apology or kindness towards your clients, even with any misunderstanding, just that we are wrong. We have been great customers over the years so for anyone to think speaking to someone like that, customer or not, is...

Had dinner here for the first time recently on a Staurday night - upstairs. Food was good, wine list is ok and not too overpriced but when the bill finally came there was a 10% Saturday night surcharge - a recent impost. No mention of it when we phoned to book, no reference to it on the website or online menu, nothing on Google revies or on photos of the menus posted and not having seen this charge anywhere else in Australia or overseas, we were not looking at the very small print at the bottom of the menu in dim lighting when ordering. Appreciate staff costs on a Saturday are slightly more than a weekday, and the loading is significantly less than a Sunday or Public holidays, but 10% on the entire bill after all the other markups is completely unjustified and a rort. No doubt the owner response will seek to justify the cost but look around at other local Cammeray, Crows Nest, Neutral Bay, etc. venues - none have a "Saturday night surcharge" and seven local diners were left...

On a whim passing and looking for a late dinner we stuck our head in the door as they where closing and full credit we expected a 'sorry we are closing' but couldn't have been made more welcome and WOW .. the service, the food, the staff where totally amazing!! The service was attentive, the food plentiful and impeccably put together. Exceptional ..!! I would recommend booking or at least calling ahead, but it's truely great to experience the welcome we received. Thank you guys we really are grateful - from the 12 apostles' last supper' before returning home to Brisbane I might as when we walked in Chef was just sitting down to his dinner with a glass of wine poured and with a smile returned to the kitchen for us (greatly appreciated)

Amici in Cammeray is an absolute gem! As someone with Italian roots, I can confidently say the food was superb, bringing a genuine taste of Italy to every dish. The serving sizes were incredibly generous, making it feel just like home. In fact, I had to get some takeaway because I couldn’t finish it all! The service was impeccable; every waitress and waiter went above and beyond to make our experience special, and meeting the chef was a delightful touch that made us feel even more welcome. This spot has quickly become a favorite, and we’re already planning to make it our weekly go-to. Highly recommend!

I should go there more often, though they are on the other end of Sydney from me. Good food, good quality products, the staff is nice and polite. The premises are clean. You can park on the long parking section on the street right behind the building, there is usually plenty of space. The music is not loud, I can't even remember it, so you can actually talk to each other. It's better to book, as this place is popular. Nice for family time, meeting friends, dates and just cosy solo dining. Much recommended by a very demanding person with high standards.
