We visited this long-standing place years ago when it first opened-up and did promo on Entertainment Book. Back then, the place specialized in modern look, fusion Asian dishes based on Thai cuisines and fancy looking Asian-style desserts. Though the dishes' quality were not bad, we prefer more authentic Thai staples so we haven't visited the place for years. However, recently we visited Cammeray to shop on a weekend and had a quick lunch here.
They have very good-value lunch menu to choose from where most dishes are priced between $10-$13 depending on protein type choice. We ordered three dishes i.e. beef soy-sauce stir-fried rice noodle (pad see ew nuea), rice w/ stir-fried beef in chilli jam sauce + cashew nuts and a selection of steam dumplings (six items incl 2 each of crab dumpling, prawn har-gow dumpling and chicken khnm cīb dumpling) as side-dish. All dishes were prepared with nice professional restaurant presentation and taste nice and authentic Thai. The stir-fried dishes have nice wok hei aroma and we love the rice noodle the best which came not only with generous serving of beef, but also creamy stir-fried egg. The rice dish was also nice with generous portion and included good portion of various vegetables. However, we thought that the sauce was a bit too sweet. The dumplings were also nice addition to our lunch experience. We spent $30 for such nice lunch experience, an excellent value you hardly can find nowadays in Sydney.
Though look a bit older than its golden days, the place still has good decor, warm lighting and equipped with nice cold A/C for hot, humid summer days. The service from floor staff was wonderful and they will try their best to please you. We asked for a bit of chopped chilli and they gave us the hot version of serious Thai chillies to enjoy with our rice and noodle dishes. It is rare to find such authentic Thai place in a suburb like Cammeray whose demographic profile dominated by European-based community. You can pay by credit cards with no additional surcharge, which is a great customer service practice. After a second visit for quick lunch again, I can say this place is really the best value Thai lunch options, north of Sydney Harbour Bridge. Their drunken noodle (pad kee maw) and grilled pork skewers (moo ping) are a must order if you want to get a filling, satisfying lunch and paying...
Read moreI have been coming to Infuzions since November 2012 and have never looked back! The food is amazing - not only in taste but in the presentation. The staff are so warm and friendly and it makes such a difference when time after time they remember your face. You simply MUST try the desserts - they are truly a work of art! I can no longer eat 'normal thai' food anymore - Infuzions knocks them completely out of the park! I would highly recommend the prawn and beetle leaf, the pork belly and the salt and pepper prawns for your entree - there is a great eggplant dish as well! Oh and the dim sums!!
For mains - you really can't go wrong, I am a big fan of the crispy chicken and cashew nut as well as the duck curry. The pork loin is always cooked to perfection as well.
It is so rare these days to find a restaurant that has a warm and inviting ambiance with great staff, service and food to match. Even when the restaurant is packed to the rafters (which it usually is) you would never see the staff falter or the dishes come out less than perfect.
Do yourself a favour and try Infuzions, it has become my second home!!...
Read moreAfter experiencing the lazy rip-off merchants that pass for restaurateurs on the Lower North Shore, Infuzions was a pleasant surprise.
If you long for the clanging of hawker-style establishments with their rude and surly wait staff, high prices and deep-frozen dumplings revived into soggy, gelatinous clumps clinging to the bottoms of rotted bamboo steam baskets then you best avoid Infuzions.
This is a restaurant fusing the best of a pan-Asian cuisine to great effect.
The pork belly in nam jim jiew was a standout - crisp, delicate skin with fluffy fat and juicy meat topped by sweet and tangy Thai-inspired sauce.
The classic steamed prawn dumplings are here, as are the BBQ pork bao.
Best of all, the service was prompt, attentive, friendly but not intrusive. No pushy staff demanding you buy beer like at another LNS dumpling restaurant. And the surroundings are almost Zen-like in their calm lines and natural tones - right down to the rock garden edging along the wall.
Price was fair for the quality of the experience - and a bit cheaper than you will pay just over the dividing line with Crows Nest or...
