We visited Aquarius yesterday to scout it out for an upcoming family gathering and left thoroughly impressed.
This small, welcoming restaurant sits right by the water, with a calm, intimate atmosphere. On what was a crisp, cold day, the gas heater added just the right touch of comfort without being intrusive.
We ordered the BBQ seafood and fish and chips. The fish, barramundi, was delicately cooked, soft yet holding together beautifully. The scallops were exceptional, with a light, cloud-like texture, and the baby octopus, which so often misses the mark elsewhere, was perfectly tender and full of flavour. Worth a mention too was the aioli served with the meals … moreish and bright, like a silky lemon mayonnaise, it tied the seafood together superbly.
Service was another highlight. We were looked after by a gracious, attentive host whose warmth felt genuine rather than rehearsed. She carried herself with quiet confidence and a kindness that made the experience feel personal, not just professional, as though she truly cared we were enjoying ourselves rather than simply following a script.
We were so impressed we booked on the spot for a table of ten in a few weeks, confident our family will be just as delighted.

Read moreWas here for valentines day 2022, food was good but service was terrible. Waited 30mins for a waiter to give us a drinks menu, ended up having to physically stop one to order drinks. After placing our order for a set 3 course meal our entrées & mains came out 2 minutes apart with the dessert brought to our table while still eating our mains. I asked the waitress to bring it back later which she complied with only to have another waitress come back & say sorry we can’t take it back because the ice cream will melt & I’ll get in trouble to which I replied can you not see our table is full & we’re trying to finish off our mains which were cold at this stage due to being brought out at the same time as our entrées. She refused to take our desserts back so just left it on the vacant table next to us. Service was terrible & ruined my wife & I’s dinner. Will definitely not be coming back here. I paid for good food & good service but was let down by inexperienced & rude waitresses. Read moreThis place would have to be just about the worst restaurant we have ever been to. No ambiance at all, staff have no idea what they are doing & the food is terrible. Hard when you ask what does meal come with & waitress answers as stated on the menu, that I would say is someone that has no idea what they are doing. Garlic bread must of had garlic waved over it, calamari chewy so I assume was frozen & brought in. Steak was stated on menu as tenderloin how about toughloin. Should of realized that the so called chef has no idea when I heard the waitress tell him the steak is rare so don't over cook it. Don't waste your money by going to this place arrived just after 6 & left by 7.30 as steak had to be cooked twice, but still so tough. Maybe 15 people in the restaurant in that time, if they are any good should be nearly full by 7pm especially on Saturday night. Why do people buy a restaurant and have no idea about food or what they are doing.
