We are local and popped in to try out this RSL. That will be the first and last time we come.

Was greeted at the entrance but security who simply said "ID". A "please" would have been great.

My wife and I ordered a the Caesars Salad, Salt & Pepper Squid and our daughter ordered Chicken Nuggets. The Caesars lettuce was brown on the edges, clearly been stored sliced for ages, and the egg was slices thin and the yolk looked dry, powdery and had a blue tinge to it. The Squid was not good, clearly not fresh and the batter was brown and just awful.

Went to speak the duty manager Carlos. He thought it best to get stay behind his counter and get a description of the problem while he game a a sultry look rather than take 10 steps to the table and have a look. I suggested he come and look which he then did. He offered a replacement or credit a credit. I took the credit option. Carlos could barely mumble and apology while he was processing the credit and was utterly unconscious the the fact that we were now leaving without having eaten. He clearly had more important matter to attend to

Carlos just does not have the experience and demeanour to...

You wouldn't usually expect a fine dining experience at your local RSL club but you will get one here. The ground floor bistro is your average experience but go upstairs to The Wine Room and you move through a classy comfortable cocktail area, past the comprehensive bar into something approaching good restaurant ambiance. The service is highly professional and welcoming but the kitchen is the star under a very creative chef (Shane?) and his team and the dishes are quite unlike bistro fare. Pre virus time the menu was more extensive but as it hopes for no more interruptions the emphasis is currently on shared, tapas style dishes and a limited selection of mains , also shareable. Supporting is a very good wine list. I'm familiar with Manly and surrounds and this spot is up there with the best around. Most recently the steak meal and the quail meals were simply outstanding in presentation, quality and flavor and the baklava desert creation was a mix of wonderful texture and flavor. (I tried to upload photos of these meals but Google had a problem and I saw unrelated...

I was there on Saturday 22nd June 2019 ! I'm a member of this club now. I ordered a spicy chicken noodle dish while having lunch with two girl friends. But I wasn't very impressed with the mushrooms in my meal. They were black colour, sliced, but I could not even bite them in half with my teeth! What were they? Made of leather I think, they tasted like plastic, chemical flavours yukky. So I picked them all out. Also the noodles were too thick. Why don't they try cooking thinner noodles? Instead of those, try flat rice noodles or rice vermicelli noodles then it might be better, and without those revolting black mushrooms. I will never order that meal again! One of my friends, her roast pork meal was stone cold as soon as she received it. I thought a Roast Pork and vegetables was supposed to be a Hot Meal? They need to check the hotness of the meals they're serving. Do they have a microwave oven, maybe they could zap it in that...

Good medium sized RSL - more of a focus on food and sociability, than gambling like some clubs (there are a fair amount of poker machines but they are kept separate). There is a bistro, with a mix of standard bistro favourites and some "nicer" meals and twists on favourites. There is also a Mexican themed food outlet, a cafe, and a nice restaurant upstairs. Sports bar has a decent range of beers (mainly big name beers, local and imported). Overall a good experience, and a good local club. Appears to not be dog friendly, which is a shame because we'd love to bring our puppy with us.

I used to be in love with this place. It had such a great vibe, and honestly, it’s heartbreaking to see it’s just not the same anymore. This was the spot you’d go to when you wanted something different from all the same-looking venues, but now it feels like just another one of many. Sad And don’t get me started on the food—cold, dry, and completely lacking in flavor. I hope things turn around one day, but sadly, we won’t be coming back to our once-beloved local.

The bistro here is definitely not your average RSL bistro. We ordered the 1) pork roast - decent portion size, well cooked, plenty of gravy, and crunchy crackling 2) Tassie salmon - crispy skin, very nicely cooked, and really nice sides. The decor is quite modern, well lit and very comfortable. The service is excellent. Love the condiments bar - huge variety and the horseradish sauce was on point!
