Last dinner at Avalon Beach before leaving

Service was absolutely amazing This is what you call customer service, something that's been missing from majority of places that we have visited since the start of the pandemic

The wait staff greet you with smiles and allow us to choose our seating even though we haven't booked, they were delighted to show us in

We ordered Kai Satay (chicken skewers), Tofu Pad Kee Mao, Massamun Neua, and one old fashioned Tequila and Singha beer (why would you order anything else in a Thai restaurant?!)

The chicken skewers, the chicken was tender and juicy with plenty of sauce. Downside was slightly too salty

The Pad Kee Mao was portioned accordingly and would have been nice if by standard (according to the chilli on the menu) be actually a bit more spicy, but overall is a recommended dish

The Massamun Neua has a sufficient portion and the beef was tender and easy to chew, again the sauce was a bit salty

Roti was recommended by the wait staff to complement the Massamun Neua sauce, and the roti was not too oily and easy to eat

There wasn't enough alcohol in the Tequila and way...

This was the longest I’ve ever had to wait for food at any restaurant — and the worst part is, the restaurant wasn’t even busy. We arrived a little after 6pm and there were only a few tables occupied. After placing our order, we waited for an entire hour without receiving a single dish. It wasn’t until my husband went to the kitchen to follow up that someone told us to wait “five more minutes” — which turned into another fifteen.

What’s even more unacceptable is that the staff couldn’t even distinguish between mango sticky rice and plain rice — in a Thai restaurant! I ordered mango sticky rice and was told there was no mango. As for the plain rice we ordered to go with our meal, it didn’t arrive until two hours later, and it tasted terrible — worse than airplane food.

Disgusting service, rude behaviour. I would never purchase from this business again. I ordered over $150 of food and was advised an 8.15 to 8.35 pm arrival. At 8.45pm I called the restaurant and was advised it was on its way and there was a delay because of rain. At 9.10 I called back and asked where the meal was as it appeared the meal had arrived. I was then advised by the restaurant that they never cooked it as they would not deliver to where we lived. They had no intention to advise me that this would be the case and had lied on my previous call about the food being on its way. They have taken my money, said it was on its way, however never intended to deliver. The person on the phone raised their voice at me and tried to blame me for not being in area. I would never buy...
