I have previously visited this cafe and choose to come back based on my first experience. I don’t think the staff have been trained to reflect that of the businesses vision. The lady in the till came across stressed and the two waitresses seemed afraid to challenge their fellow colleagues around the questions I had asked.
I arrived at 12 noon. I ordered eggs, toast & whipped goats cheese from the sides menu which stated it was available all day. I saw that breakfast started at 6.30 and lunch from 11, as stated on the menu. My previous order was the loaded toast which was eggs, toast and a choice of a side. This order comes with dukkah.
When my order arrived I kinda felt like I would like sukkah like I previously had the time before. I asked one of the waitress and she cane back and said no sorry you can’t buy it in addition to your order.
Feeling unsatisfied and puzzled that I couldn’t buy it I asked another waitress who went away to what I can only guess was the chef and returned to say no. She asked if I had ordered the loaded toast in which I replied no. She told me I could probably buy it for around $2-$4 more. My order cost $13 by ordering the individual items and the loaded toast $14. The difference in price being $1. She continued to tell me that breakfast was available all day apart from 2 options. The loaded toast not being one of them. On leaving she told me the chef was “quite busy today”
I am miffed that I couldn’t have the dukkah as a side option despite the combination was available...
Read moreEasy to reach by bus and on the way exploring northern beaches. Was open during long weekend and packed. Lots of tables inside and outside. Service fast but didn’t bring water. Food clearly labeled. Vegan options appreciated ! They include acai (blended with banana and apple juice so did not order). Soba noodles, salads and other dishes. Opted for the bowl with quinoa, sauerkraut (always a yes as a German), Pumpkin (oven roasted but cold out of the fridge..), broccolini, healthy leafy greens, avocado with spiced tahini dip, great granola with goji berries, coconut and nuts and seeds, nice dressing which was on the side to too sweet but were talking about minimal complaints here. This was one of the best salads I have had in a while. Definitely nourishing and so delicious. Honestly great and huge portion as well. Coffee machine is super loud steaming maybe needs to get fixed. They also have raw healthy bites which I overlooked. Great kale juice too Salad solid 9/10 (would be 10 if pumpkin served hot and dressing would...
