29/4/2023, I could not believe I had stir-fry mud crab, cold Blue Swimmer Crabs, raw salmon, cooked salmon & smoked salmon salad (none would appear on Mon-Thurs) though the following Fri Basa replaced mud crab on the same spot for the same price. The verdict is distinct, so many people lined up on weekends because here is close to the best deal. Though the price was increased a few times from 2020, I still treat it as my regular canteen. All clubs in NSW require non-members to bring government issued ID. Other Star Buffets are also located inside clubs. Clearly other than Ashfield RSL & Merrylands RSL, this is almost the cheapest buffet in Sydney. Unfortunately some nonsense people avoided higher sessions but expected too much for the basic weekday lunch buffet. A simple stir fry noodles is around $16 in most take away shops. Around $22 weekday lunch ($18.5 for senior members) can beat all others on Mondays even changed from cold prawns to school prawns salad, because Ashfield 88 & Merrylands Signature do not open. I tried all different priced sessions, weekday lunch & dinner, weekend lunch & dinner also on major public holidays. Salad, fruits & dessert like cheesecakes & pudding are quite expensive outside, even in supermarkets. RSL style buffets are so affordable with a wider range of different food with unlimited coffee, tea & icecream when compared to hotpot & BBQ. Remember to join the Bankstown RSL membership to receive a free birthday buffet voucher plus $1 discount each time. Once this fee is paid, membership card is produced instantly so Free Birthday Buffet voucher can be printed immediately *if it is their birthday month. I eat here at least once a week so I cannot count how many hundred times I ate here but I had never had food poisoning even I ate raw oysters (only on specific dates) & salmon. *Annual 25Dec lunches are always the only day to have lobsters & oysters on top of weekend dinner version. This also applies on other Star Buffets & Ashfield 88. 25/12/2022 was just $72.8, my friend joined membership to 2047 for $25 only! No where else(other than Ashfield & other Star Buffet) in Sydney would have lobster buffets for less than $110 on normal weekends & public holidays. In NSW, neither supermarkets nor shopping centres (so as food court inside) can open on 25Dec.

I recently dined at Bankstown Star Buffet, located within Bankstown RSL, which is conveniently just a short walk from the train station. Parking options, including free onsite parking and across the road, make it accessible. However, I must say that the staff left much to be desired in terms of friendliness. They seemed more preoccupied with enforcing rules than providing basic customer service. The queues to enter can get quite lengthy, so booking ahead is advisable. On the bright side, the buffet offers a wide array of cuisines, ranging from Asian to Italian to eastern European and even a sushi train. The variety extends to fruits and desserts, including the delightful addition of fairy floss. The seating arrangements are average, not designed for extended comfort. My personal favorites were the roast beef and ham. It's worth noting that soft drinks and frozen drinks come at an extra cost, while tea and coffee are included in the price. Overall, Bankstown Star Buffet provides good value for money and is a suitable place to enjoy a meal with friends and family.

This place was having Massive queue during Sat night! The buffet starts at 5.30pm till 9.30pm. First, there's a queue to sign into the club. Next, there's another half an hour queue to enter the buffet area! How crazy that the queue was all the way to the ground floor! There was only two counters handling the buffet sign in, which is the main reason of the queue. They need to improve in this as having to queue at least 30 minutes will definitely drive away their customers. Food wise, the buffet spread is acceptable and they replenish the food very well. There's the oriental BBQ pork by the entrance, the western section with soup and pasta, the sushi belt, the western section with finger foods like nuggets and fries, the Asian stir fry section, desserts, cakes and fruits, cold seafood, dim sum and pao. They even have a candy floss machine! Water, tea, coffee are also available. They charge $4 for bottomless drinks so pay for it to get a cup when signing in. Nothing to shout out for but good variety for the price.

5 out of 5! great place to come with the family or couples and enjoy lots of food and all types of food, asian, japanese, australian food and then some. Here is the 5 reasons why I gave this place a 5 out of 5. Food; The food is large and caters to all palates, tastes and dietary needs. There is plenty of vegetarian and vegan food as well as food for the general palate. Food is fresh, tasty and a HUGE variety of savoury and sweet food. There is a sushi train, a full time chef, chopping away ..in the peking duck and pork , meat section. The Dessert bar is extensive, with pretty much all yummy desserts you can think of, with coffee, tea or hot water also available (for people like me, that need to detox after all the eating !). Service; The service is friendly, attentive and fast at clearing all those plates and dishes that you've demolished in record time. Cleanliness; The facilities are clean, the place looked clean, and the table and cutlery were clean also. Value for money; Based on the amount of dishes we had, I calculated, that it should of cost us in excess of about 150.00 easily! We paid around $34.00 each for unlimited eating 5pm - 9pm (4 hours), needless to stay, we did not stay for the full time period. And we definitely waddled out feeling over-fed and like piglets promising ourselves to never eat that much again (well at least not until next year anyway:) ) X Factor; Hmm - the only slightly small point I would make is that the seating where I was, was super squashed, you had to be tiny tiny to fit thru to get to your table, and you could almost sit in the next persons lap... but it is the food, that is the star in this place, not the seating arrangements. Therefore, I still gave a 5 out of 5. The full time sushi-bar train and the chef on duty as well as the chef in the meat section, expertly carving up duck, beef, lamb, pork and of course ensuring everyone gets a piece of crackling (which I gotta admit is one of the best crackling I have tasted) - or was it the decadent dessert bar, with the chocolate fountain and marshmallows, that I managed to avoid? The place has x-factor in that it has x-large amounts of fresh, tasty, and in some parts - healthy food. Will be back with friends and family for sure.

Word food I have eaten in my thirty years. Absolutely disgusting. A disgrace to China and their cuisine. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! I wish I could give minus four stars. Arrived just before 8. An hour and ten minutes later, the old, cold and disgusting food was sitting there still from before. I spent all the time trying to find something to eat that was hot and suitable. I tested the heat at the buffet to be fair by sampling the food. Nothing gets replaced or refilled even if what is in there is old and inedible. At least thirty percent of options were unavailable when arrived and it stayed that way all the way through(mostly because of the poor quality scraps lying around.) All meats are warm either dry or cold which is dangerous and no matter what you have is warm at best. This is so dangerous with meat. Plates were warm and food still cold. No matter what the food was all cold. Seriously.

The sushi is ok, but after an hour there was nothing of notable quality, not even the desserts. You walk in and are welcomed with old crusty and cold food and just before you leave the old food sits there and doesn’t get changed.

Offering to reheat food sitting at incorrect temperatures is a no no as it was incorrect temp on first place. The worst food experience of my thirty year existence. Stay away! Bloody disgusting.

Asked for refund. No refund given. Staff look through you like you are glass or not even there. It’s weird how they almost look through you. The worst buffet in every way and if it wasn’t for the choc fountain I don’t think I’d be able to fathom this place at all.

You ask for beef carved, it is carved off a dry corpse if you will and flipped with a knife towards you. Very rude people who obviously do not care about customer. The worst experience of food in my whole life and my companion left feeling sick in the stomach. She had very little to eat, so it certainly wasn’t the amount.

I had to contact chief operating officer of an RSL. Never go to it. It was that bad I could feel my hair going greyer. Stay away from this place, save your money so you don’t get angered and disenchanted.

I had to drive home with windows fully open to “shake it off”. I felt...
