I had an appalling experience at Beach Road, Bondi and feel it is important that others are aware of how poorly this venue treats its customers. I wouldnât even rate them a 1 star.
After only two hours out, I was approached by a bouncer who claimed I was âtoo drunkâ and asked me to leave, despite the fact I was calm, respectful, and not intoxicated. When I requested a breathalyser to prove this, I was told the venue does not have one â meaning decisions are made arbitrarily, with no accountability.
The situation escalated further when I attempted to re-enter the venue. The female manager, Ash, physically pushed me, despite me clearly asking not to be touched. This behaviour is completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and left me feeling unsafe. When I asked for the names of the staff involved, both Ash and the bouncer refused to identify themselves, which only reinforced the lack of professionalism and transparency.
No customer should ever feel unsafe in an environment that is supposed to provide hospitality and security. Instead, this venue fosters an atmosphere of intimidation and disrespect.
This conduct is appalling and should not be tolerated in any licensed establishment. I will be escalating this matter to NSW Liquor & Gaming for review, as I believe the behaviour I experienced falls well below the standards required of a licensed venue.
I strongly caution others against attending Beach Road if you value being treated with dignity, fairness, and basic safety on...
Read moreWe came to Sydney in a group to celebrate a 21ST birthday. Bondi was our 2nd stop early in the evening. A couple of people in our group had Autism. Me and my friend were there as carers looking after everyone. This hotel was recommended as we were a larger group without a booking and other establiments didn't have room. Half of our group was let in but they refused entry to one of our people with Autism saying he had too much to drink. I said no he has a disability (desecretly) and this is the way he normally is. He had 2 drinks. I asked to see the manager but apparently he was the manager. (Ben Pearce). The situation was awkward and very discrimative. He then told me to remove his 21ST Birthday badge and try across the road. Not good enough Ben. You and your staff need more training in these situations with how some disabilities present. You did not listen or take I to consideration the information I provided you. This put a big damper on what should have been a great night and really upset someone trying to enjoy their birthday. After reading other reviews I doubt you would care as its just about risk management to you. We were a tame group having a few laughs. I would discourage anyone with a disability going to this establishment and if you look slightly happy or louder than normal you probably won't get in either. Very...
Read moreArrive around 6:30 pm, played trivia and ate until around 9:30pm. So far a good experience. 9:45 rocks around as we start a pool game, we buy one more round. 10pm comes and the manager comes downstairs and turns all the lights on. Calls bar is shut. No last drinks. We go to order one more round, are told we are not allowed while at the same time off duty staff members are being poured drinks. My partner goes to use the bathroom and is told she cannot get access to the area she was going to was where the staff were having drinks.
Meanwhile in the main bar while we were finishing our pool game locals and staff members off duty continued to be served.
The manager when approached about whether the bar was closed or not brushed it off as âwhat he says goesâ. The words that were used was âyes I can I can do what I wantâ.
Needless to say this is the most arrogant and disrespectful attitude Iâve seen towards patrons Iâve seen in a bit. Honestly gross.
Iâve run pubs for 12 years and would have been savagely punished if I acted this way...
