Sorry, this is not a good restaurant, we ordered duck springrolls for entree, honey chicken for the main and a special fried rice. After about 15 minutes had passed the springrolls arrived with a warning from the waiter that they were very hot. Unfortunately whilst the outside seemed quite warm, the inside was stone cold, and as for containing duck, neither I nor my wife could see anything resembling duck inside any of them. Some ten or so minutes later the honey sesame chicken arrived, hot and looking very tasty, which it was, the rice however did not accompany the chicken, so, thinking it would arrive quite soon, we waited. After 5 or so minutes had passed I spoke with the waiter, enquiring as to what had happened to the rice, he asked what type of rice had we ordered, we told him 'special fried rice', we then waited another ten minutes for that to arrive, at which point the honey chicken was by now less than warm. Terrible service, I will never darken the doors of this...
Read moreFood was OK, not authentic Beijing duck, pancakes sticks together, charge $15 separately for duck bone soup which normally is free when you order duck set menu elsewhere. Sichuan chilly pork slice was horrible, don't think they know what this dish should taste like. Fried Beans are not bad. Price is definitely on the high end comparing to quality, Set is $88, meat dish is around 30-40 while vege dish is 25-35. What's even worse, they charge for everything, 30 cents for a plastic bag that goes with take away container on top of container charge , $3.50 for hot water. .. They probably will charge for breathing the air if it's legal.
Service was pretty bad, hard to get attention from waiting staff, and even worse, they all looks and talks to you in a unhappy and grumpy way. We were there for 2 family members birthday celebration, left unimpressed and for sure will avoid...
Read moreBeijing Duck restaurant (BDR) is located in an industrial area of Thornleigh. It’s not in a prominent area but still known to the local community, just not overly crowded.

As mentioned by some of the reviewers, staff members do not seem friendly and there’s no sense of welcoming as you enter the restaurant. The presentation is also not so pleasing, if you have been to other Peking duck restaurants, the duck is sliced in front of you and served to you plated up. While BDR might not be a premium restaurant, their lack of customer service would put most...
