Bloom Potts Point — Restaurant in Sydney

We were quite disappointed our visit on Saturday. We booked outside corner table at 4pm but the booking had not been taken properly and we had to sit inside table. We ordered some drinks, coffee, and a pizza for snacks, and were planning to order some more food & drinks for our dinner, as the pizza was nice. However, around 5.30pm ish, we were asked to give a way the table to move to the counter (higer chairs and table) where in the noisier position in the restaurant, which we weren't happy. So we left without having dinner. If we did walk-in, then how we were treated was understandable considering the busy time of year. However, we had a booking in advance, but they didn't take it properly. Food, coffee, and drinks were good, though, we feel we were not welcomed and treated not well overall, to be honest. Well, if I am not happy, then I just don't go there anymore, and they might be happy as well, as they must be always busy anyway even if we are not going there in the future. But the dining experience was one of the worst I ever had, giving me the impression that they think we would not be spending enough for the night and not worthwhile having...

Look, it seems like a nice cafe and it’s looking good and at a nice spot but the food just takes years to come out. Coffee is faster but still taking days to be ready. Not sure why but it seems to be the norm here. You might like it here and quality is okay but it’s just too slow man. This time I even had to go back in to ask for my coffee, even though it was not busy at all. I went twice and won’t be back. Dan

Update regarding the owner’s comment @noon on SEP 9: This type of comment seems to be the norm when receiving a critical review. I highly recommend you work on the issues outlined in your critical reviews instead of giving angry replies. This could greatly improve your cafe. Dan

update: i ordered food here before. It took extremely long to come and one item was forgotten, but nothing has since changed. Stop saying I am lying and just accept real feedback. Don’t bother to reply back as I know you’re keen to keep saying I AM LYING again and again. Take some chill pill and relax...

The prawn pasta was quite tasty but for $28 we got a very small and shallow plate of pasta, what looked like 5 small pieces of prawn meat, the size of not even half a prawn! A few mouthfuls and it’s gone. Pretty expensive for cafe food but then of course this is in the upmarket trendy Potts Point. Service wasn’t very attentive either.

The coffee flavour was really terrible, flat and unpleasant bitterness but the cups were cute and the sky through the big windows was beautiful.

Two small plates of pasta, one large bottle of San Pellegrino and two cups of coffee was over $70 and we were still very hungry. 😂

PS: I’m not the only one commented on your food being tiny portion here and it’s not the first time I had coffee. Bitterness in coffee should be pleasant and enjoyable and I love that in a better cup of coffee. As a cafe owner you should know better and get a better barista! Your coffee did taste awful to be honest. And I don’t say...
