Potts Point Hotel — Restaurant in Sydney

Great place, helpful staff and good food and service! I had a booking for 18 people last Saturday evening, (07/03/20) to celebrate my birthday and everything was awesome! I requested a booking on the outdoor area which is set in a nice bit of the footpath and had a great space for my guests. After 10pm we had to move inside the pub, due to license restrictions, so one of their gentle staff (a nice Brazilian guy named Phillip, if I am not wrong) kindly asked us to get inside and he already had nicely organised a space with tables and enough chairs for all my guests inside the pub. Great attitude, because is not that easy move 18+ people and have enough space and chairs for a big group, but he did a pretty good job, though! ah plus another thing, I did not bring a birthday cake or anything, so the same guy Phillip asked my girlfriend in private if She would like him to bring a small dessert and a candle so we could sing happy birthday to myself , and she agreed with that. I wasn't expecting that but I got surprised for it and quite happy tough! Such a small gesture, but greatly appreciated! Also, maybe for coincidence, another bar staff,a Brazilian Girl( I think Giulia was her name), served us pretty well at the bar.

I would recommend this bar to my friends and definitely would come back for a pint and food or celebrate other...

I recently returned to Sydney and went to write a positive review about my meal and experience at The Pub, until I saw the review left by Rmuttuf123 this establishments response.

I am disgusted and appalled by the manner you have acknowledged this person’s perception of ignorance and racism by this establishment. Shame on you!

Unless you are a person of colour, you really have no idea around the experiences this person has encountered in their lifetime. The audacity of you to question the truthfulness and jumping straight on the defence by calling this person’s perception false without even knowing the facts and circumstances yourself. Why is it up to this person to prove to you that the actions of your staff have been hurtful to them - would you have these same expectations of a white person who claimed that the service was slow?

Your ignorance and privilege is everything that is wrong with this country. It’s 2023. Do better.

Instead of spending your life being ignorant, my suggestion would be that you invest one hours revenue from your pokie room into cultural awareness training for your staff (they could do with this seeing as the majority of your team appear...

I would just like to say how disappointed I was in the service received tonight. My partner and I went to order some takeaway food and were met with sour attitudes and horrible personalities from your staff. When ordering, we mentioned we wanted takeout to which the waitress behind the counter ignored/did not hear and ended up processing the order. When we asked to confirm it was for takeout, instead of apologising, this lady chose to tell us off in a disrespectful and demeaning manner, slowly explaining to us as if we were children: “you need to let me know before I process the order”.

Later, when we were waiting for the order we went to the bathroom and after coming back shortly, we were accused by another staff member, asking us "where we had been" in an overly accusatory tone, as if she were telling us off also! We had not been gone more than a few minutes since we ordered. I felt this was extremely disrespectful to me and my partner, and we both felt stunned at the ill-mannered attitudes of the...
