If you're in the Alexandria area and craving for a delicious savoury or sweet pastry, there's a famous spot that you should definitely check out. The ambiance of the place is warm and welcoming, thanks to the nicely decorated and relaxing environment. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, making you feel comfortable and at ease. While there are a few parking spots at the back of the building, they are limited, and the spaces are very tight. However, off-the-street parking is available, so you don't have to worry about finding a spot for your car. When it comes to the food and drinks, this place surely doesn't disappoint. The chocolate milk is a must-have as it is incredibly creamy and tastes heavenly. If you're into croissants, you should try their almond croissant, which is crispy and perfectly baked without being overly sweet. Apart from pastries and beverages, this place also serves coffee, and you can even purchase some grounds to take home with you. All in all, if you're looking for a cozy and delightful spot to satisfy your cravings, this place is definitely worth a visit.

The pies here are my favourite, I've had the beef, the brisket and the chicken pie. The brisket is my favourite, the chicken is next - and the clincher is the house made tomato sauce for an extra 20c, it is simply amazing. The pie is a good sized portion (for me, at least) for a hearty breakfast, or even lunch I presume. I've tried a couple of other things here but I always go back for the pie. I also mix it up once in a while with the croissant with ricotta and jam. As for their coffee, I am not a fan. To me it always tastes burnt, which overpowers any other notes of the coffee. Unless I'm super sleepy and forgetful, I just stick to the food. Service is quite efficient, though sometimes lacking the smile that you expect of staff. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and I've never not found a seat, though I've never been there for the lunch rush.

Came here for late lunch. There were only 3 pies on display and I asked if there are any meat pies. The guy at the counter replied that they only had vege curry pies. So I ordered two crossiants and a mixed berry muffin. We sat down to eat and less than 5 mins later, the same guy at the counter brought out a whole tray full of fresh pies! When I asked him if they had any meat pies, why didn't he mention to us they had meat pies in the oven and they would be out in a few mins?? I went back to the counter and purchased one beef pie (would have purchased two meat pies but we already ordered three items minutes earlier). Am disappointed in the customer service from the the guy who served us as he could have told us they had some coming out soon and I would have ordered differently. The food was good. Hot beef pie was the best item out of what I ate.

I never thought I'd be leaving a less than 5-star review for Bourke St Bakery Alexandria as it has been my absolute fave for over a year now but... the quality check with food production must have gone down in recent months as yesterday (21st July 2024 - Alexandria store at around 1pm; three workers in store at the time), there was a thick, dark hair, deeply embedded in the beef brisket pie that I ordered. I took it to the counter, upon which one of the workers immediately replaced the pie for me but... to be honest I would have preferred a refund as I didn't want to eat another one. It was nice of them to replace my pie but my concern is that they didn't seem all that surprised or else it didn't seem like they were taking the finding of hair in their product as seriously as I would have hoped for a place that serves food?? I say this because I observed the first worker eventually showing my plate (with the hair) to the barista but the barista was just laughing/smirking/smiling and shaking his head in a dismissive way, not in a 'oh no we did a wrong this' manner. So, I'm not sure if this has become a common occurrence that they are no longer phased by it or if they are just dismissive about it because it's not a serious concern to them? But regardless... I've ordered the beef brisket pie countless times with my partner and have never had any issues until this hair incident. I may stay away from the bakery for a while... the thought of the hair keeps popping up in my...

The younger sibling of the original Bourke St bakery in Surry Hills, this little bakery is a great addition to this area. Known for amazing breads and pastries the original Bourke street bakery has a cult following of regulars who queue rain, hail or shine for its tasty sourdoughs and delectable little baked treats.

My mission on this stiflingly hot summers day was to retrieve pastries for a meeting I was attending at the nearby industrial area of Mascot. As I was wanting to impress my fellow meeting attendees, Bourke Street Bakery was the prefect stopover en route.

Parking is a bit of a pain point, with nothing close by on our first approach. We decided to traverse the block one more time hoping that a sacred park will come available. As it did not, I was dropped at the front door and picked up on the way around again.

The bakery is small with a few tables and chairs. Im not sure whether they had air conditioning inside the store, but if they did it was unable to keep the heat of the day out with temperatures to melting levels inside.

I quickly bought my lemon and chocolate tarts and bid a fond adieu before jumping back into the comfort of our AC'd vehicle. The food here is good. Really good so I bought the cookbook "Bourke street Bakery". Keep up the...
