Munchies Sushi Alexandria — Restaurant in Sydney

Absolutely loved our sushi experience here! The Rainbow Roll (tuna, salmon & avocado) was hands down the star of the show – fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavour. Every bite was a little party in our mouths.

The Volcano Salmon & Avo, however, fizzled out for us – expected a kick, but it was more of a whisper. Labeled as spicy (1/3 peppers), but barely a tingle. Definitely the underdog of the meal.

Unfortunately, the Tuna Tataki wasn’t available – but honestly, that’s a good thing in our books. When a place runs out of a dish, it usually means it’s fresh and made daily. No leftovers here! So we switched to the Salmon Tataki, which turned out to be a fantastic call.

Shimeji Mushroom Rolls were delicious – earthy and umami-rich. Only suggestion? Slice the big mushrooms thinner for a better bite balance. But flavour-wise, no complaints at all.

Also tried the Tuna Taco – and yep, if you’re a fan of fusion bites, this one’s a win!

I am sorry to say this, but after being a customer for long time there i got really dissapointed of the sushi quality, taste, size and service, it looks like if I ordered from a different restaurant, tiny pieces, very bad made sushi, poor ingredients, bad taste, and the worst my order took 1 hour and 40 minutes, even more than the estimated time, and guess what, I live in Mascot, just 15 minutes away from the place, so yes, even i call politely and ask and your answer can't be "up to you", so take it or leave it, thank you, you made me hate sushi from the place I loved sushi. I am going to keep the picture i took long time ago, when i became a loyal customer, what you sent me yesterday was so so bad and disgusting that i don't want other people see that crab honestly. I used to be a regular customer and always enjoyed the food, but last night was extremely disappointing. I tried to place an order through their website at 9:25 PM, and even though it says they take orders until 9:30 PM, the delivery option was already closed.

I ended up ordering through Uber Eats and got the Salmon Lovers. Unfortunately, the salmon in the hot roll was spoiled and had a very unpleasant smell. The fresh salmon also tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge for too long definitely not fresh.

It’s unacceptable for a place that claims to serve high-quality sushi. I’m really disappointed and won’t be ordering again unless I see real improvements in quality...
